I have owned both GS2 and Sensation (XE) for over 6 months and no way GS2>SXE. If you count update, well I don't use phones for long. But if you'll be updated with development and what Devs say, you'll know how scumbag Samsung is. I'm not just an average touchwiz or sense user. I use my phone for more than 4hours a day, its like a second house for me and I wouldn't like to live in an ugly house with poor electricity and water supply. S2 got jb with broken stuff - words of an elite RD. My friend gokussjx also developer for S3 cries coz of exynos processor. Come on, we aren't here for brand fights.

HTC one looks great, and I'm unable to understand why are people complaining about storage. 64GB should be enough for all your music collection + favourite movies + 5 HD games and lots of pictures and videos o_O you could even keep a whole damn TV show.

Edit: I'd be glad to tell at least 10 ways in which Sensation was better. But this is not GS2 vs Sensation thread.

Someone is delusional. All I have to say is the Sensation used the Qualcomm S3 and was fat. That makes even the Atrix better than the Sensation, let alone the GS2. I would love to hear this delusional post. Okay, what makes the Sensation better? Haha

Just a heads up to everyone considering the One. You would be basically buying an Apple product. I would never support Apple, ever. Not even if it is just 5% each handset. For all we know it could be 20%.

I think that even if they release a One+ it will be much like the One X -> One X+, putting in a higher binned chip with a higher frequency and extra storage. This is an incremental upgrade obviously requiring much less R&D to produce as the whole phone is virtually the same. So I think it would be unlikely a One+ would upgrade to the 800 chip which might require a whole new pcb etc as well as more software development with new drivers etc.

If you need a phone now I wouldn't hesitate in getting the One, all your examples from the past where you bought consoles just before the new ones released is because you bought so late and couldn't do any research beforehand.
The other option is if you are able to wait a while, if say in 6 months a One+ does come out you can immediately buy that or get a One on the cheap and it would still be a great phone that would last a long time.

I really love this new HTC One but I am not sure if it's worth buying it. Do you guys think that HTC is going to release a new phone soon? Something like the HTC One+? Or do you guys think that it will stay the best HTC phone for a longer time.

Don't base it on what you think MAY come down the road. If you do, you'll never buy the phone in front of you. There will ALWAYS be something newer with slightly higher specs coming down the road. If you really NEED a new phone now, then buy what works for you. If you only WANT a new phone, it's best to wait.

For me, I won't buy a phone that doesn't have an SD card slot (or some removable media- who's knows what it will be called a year down the road!) That's not to say the HTC One is not a nice device, although I am confused by all of the variations on One from last year (One X, One X+, One S, etc.) HTC makes solid feeling phones and this one has some pretty decent specs, so I am certain plenty of people will buy it, especially now that you will be able to get incremental firmware updates direct from HTC without having to wait for a full blown ROM update which will need to be bloated by the carriers, etc.

Only If I break my One S otherwise I don't think there's really anything new enough about it that makes an upgrade necessary.

And maybe if htc would ever release a phone that is almost similar to the One but with only a 4.3" screen just like our One S, then that would I be upgrading to.. something like HTC One Mini.. :)

Love the front speakers

I dont know why most phones have the speaker on the back. I'm always cupping my phone with my hand. This phone has me excited. I'm gunna try this and if I dont like it, I will sell it for the s4.

I'm considering dumping my 4S for one. But I'm soo invested in the ecosystem by using an iPhone for over 5 years now.

Don't do it. I hate Apple and would never support them but if you have no problems with them, don't switch. Only reason I got rid of the 4s was because everyone had one and I can't stand it when everyone has the same jacket or shoes or phone as me. Otherwise it worked great. If you switch to an HTC phone though, prepare for a nightmare where you have a lot of issues.

As much as it might pain me to say this, I am absolutely head over heels in love with this phone. I think HTC has knocked this one out of the park. I have been patiently waiting for the SGS4, however, after seeing the HTC One I am 90% set on getting it. Samsung really needs to work their assess off if they plan on keeping me as a loyal customer. The SGS4 must have the octa core chip and they really need to change the design because I'm tired of this plastic crap. Yes, I am writing this on my SGS3.
:D
P.S. The HTC One's pixel count is something like 468, whereas the Galaxy S4 is rumored at 441.
We might have a new king wearing the 2013 crown... HTC?

Yeah yeah fancy materials like iPhone 5 and HTC One S that sound uber good in theory, but practically they start to peel and get scratched the same week you buy the phone.

Build quality != fancy materials.

People said One X has superior build quality coz it used polycarbonate, yet there were phones with badly glued displays, light leaks and yellow spots, thats bad build quality right there.

Imo, dont buy HTC One, wait to see what GS4 has to offer or buy Xperia Z, that one is water resistant and IIRC has a mSD slot.
For my taste, HTC One is more of a 2012 phone with a huge resolution display, its thick (9.3mm), sealed and has too much bezel for a 2013 flagship. Rest is all gimmicks, just like the image chip and beats (praise Tegra DAC) in One X which were inferior to.. nothing fancy-branded in GS3.

I was dying for a new phone last year when One X was announced, yet I waited for GS3 and didnt regret it, and thats coming from HTC Desire and having Legend and Sensation in le family. If I want I can convert it anytime to MAXXX, and a day one root is eazy mode, no locked bootloaders / warranty bull**** etc.

Sorry but never in my life would I buy a samsung phone. Specially a flagship one. But no I am not a samsung hater.
Here in our country samsung dominates the phone market. And 2 out of 3 people you see uses samsung phones. And I don't wanna join that crowd of people I wanna be unique on my own so like I said on the other thread. I would rather use a nokia 3310 than a samsung galaxy S4 just for uniqueness sake.

---------- Post added at 02:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:38 PM ----------

The S, S2, S3 were all plastic so chances are the S4 will be the same.

The great thing about tech is everyone has the choice of what device they want, no one should flame you for buying one over the other, buy what suits your needs and what you enjoy since your the one holding it/using it.

I personally like the HTC One and chose to buy it based on the features/design and look of it. I would never be like 'OMG WHY DID YOU BUY A HTC ONE, THE SGS4 WILL ABSOLUTELY SMASH IT' etc...

Yes companies use gimmicks like 'Ultra Pixel' and various other buzzwords but EVERY company does it.... It's called marketing. In HTC's case they can't really just say 'Megapixel' because the size of the pixel is much larger so ofc they had to come up with a new word :)

If you really want the real name for the camera it should be

4MegaUltraPixels

1pixel on HTC One is 1UltraPixel

and 4million UltraPixels = 4MegaUltraPixels.

But it's just way too long for a name and looks childish so that's the reason why HTC never called it like that.

It would sound like I'm gonna be a superduperultimateomgWTFman.

Seriously? This is the stupidest statement ever. You aren't supporting Apple or HTC, you are simply purchasing a product.

Whats up with the irrational hated from u Tomatoes? U seem to hate Apple and HTC for some reason, while riding Sony and Samsungs D.

He came from the Xperia forum, hes bashing the One to make him feel better about his obsolete device.

Couldn't have been more underwhelmed or disappointed with the One announcement. How far in denial is HTC? Did they realize they left Egypt, and entered Sudan? They just don't get it. How many tough quarters will it take for them to get their head back in the game?

Blinkfeed would make using a third party launcher a must.

Zoe is just silly, did they forget you can already shoot video?

1080p vs 720p still hasn't sold me to any actual discernable difference at a sub 5" size. But those extra pixels will take more battery to run.

Sense 5 looks nice, and it looks really responsive on the demos, but so did Sense 4...

As long as we are talking software, the One has very little chance getting decent support. Blame AT&T all you want, but they aren't the ones that promised updates. And Samsung manages to update their devices on AT&T just fine.

Why go down to 2 buttons? Android still needs a menu button, that bar popping up all the time is super annoying. If you want to get rid of the multi task or menu key, just go all the way and go on-screen with the keys.

Still skeptical about a metal frame. We all know about antennagate, and the iPhone wasn't fully metal on the back. It may turn out okay, time will tell.

Honestly, yes, the One looks darn sexy. Great looking hardware. But if they are built to the low quality standards the One X was, they won't last long. Say what you want about Samsungs cheap plastic, but they last a lot longer, and take far more abuse than HTC hardware. At the end of the day I care more about my phone lasting, than having to get a replacement every month for a different hardware issue. Even if that hardware looks nicer. Function over form every time. (That's what I like TouchWiz better than any skin, including CM/AOKP)

Then the whole aspect of the locked bootloaders, S-Off, potential for warranty denial, and other extra hoops to get custom firmware to try to mitigate some of the terrible performance it's destined to have, bothers me. Versus it being so easy on a Samsung device a cave man could do it. The One X was going to have such an amazing dev scene, but I blinked so I missed it.

My time with the One X vs my past with Samsung devices could be summed up with this analogy: HTC is a blind date, you never know what your are going to get, this time she is pretty, but every minute you spend with her she gets more obnoxious. Samsung is the girl next door, often passed over for the "prettier" girl, but the more you get to know her the more beautiful she is. If somehow my Note II is pryed from my cold dead hands it won't be for the One.

Yes, I think it's worth it. I'll be picking one up (Sprint variant) and I know quite a few other members of our team will be doing the same. So you know what that means :D we can't let you guys run around with just a "popular" build.prop tweaked kitchen ROM ;)

i really hate these LCD displays its such an inferior technology to oled. The only thing they are good for is black text on white backgrounds. Android is all black so its a total loss. Colours just arent that good on these displays. Brightness is a total waste of time given that your battery goes from full to empty on any kind of decent brightness. With no removable battery this is a big issue. Im also not sure 1080p is worth it any more. 720p seems to be perfect balance.

Im seriously thinking about a note 2 now with the RGB Amoled display in LTE. Samsung is letting me down by loving to LCD on the S4. i really dont want LCD they are so boring.

My friend the note 2 is a beast. People who brag about their display, aka dna z10 etc... have just that to brag about... their spec sheet displays lol. They look at spec sheets and say "Oh well the note 2 has 720 display so it must look ugly"...complete morons. With its non pentile display the note 2s screen is ridiculously nice.

That is where the comparison ends. In terms of battery life, features, connectivity, durability and spen functionality, no phone on the market is even in the same ball park as the note 2. Just look at the review sites around the web. Honestly I laugh at people who try to compare their phones to the Note 2. This is how our conversations usually go. ...

Random person " look at my (insert any phone) phone! Best phone on the market "

Me "ya what makes it so special?"

Random person" looking how beautiful the screen is! "

Me " ok what else can it do that my note can't"

    Random person " um well..."

Me "can it do multi Window? "

Random " um no but. .."

Me " can it have 5-6 applications open at the same time. ..on the same screen"

    Random "well..."

Me "do you have an spen for photo editing?"

    Random " no. ..But um..."

Me "does your battery last 2 days with at least 8 hours of pure on screen time and all wireless connections enabled? "

    Random " probably not. .."

Me "Do you have a floating keyboard, browser, pop up video or even pop up s note? "

    Random person "... no"

Me "....so again... What makes your phone so special? "

    Random " ....."

Me "matter of fact. .. ( I turn to other random person and turn the brightness up on the screen) sir which screen looks better?"

Other random "I guess this one (points to random persons phone), but it's not a big difference really.."

Me "exactly... so you have a phone that has a slightly better screen resolution... But can't compare on any other features....I think I'll be sticking to my note 2..."

Random person " ..." walks away jealous...
