Default Why does my inspire 4g think its a desire HD?

My Htc Inspire says its a Desire HD under model type and here. It says sent form my desire HD but my phone is an Inspire. And i am rooted and using cm7.

Its probably problem with the build.prop in /system. Use root explorer to open it and you can edit the device area if you care that much

Edit your build.prop and simply change ro.product.model= to Inspire 4G or iPhone killer or whatever you want.
BTW, you can change it via the xda app anyways under settings to something not "sent from my x via xda developers app"

You have to activate the read / write permissions in the settings. Go to settings, enable root explorer and write permission....exit and re enter. That should solve the issue.

Flashing Inspiremod would most likely fix that.

Agreed. But with the us gps config and not knowing where the person is from, then they will have to fix the gps afterwards. If he's in the us, superb.
