Everything on Saurom just works ....except the flashlight bug....LOL
You turn it on, and the phone forgets it's on, then you have to turn it on again to turn it off...
It's probably the jkay mods and not the rom....but minor..
I have been laughed at a few times when telling folks that I use GB more than anything else.
I guess it is old software, but when it works so well. Why run something else ?
I've always believed that the move to ICS was flawed, as much stability was lost in the upgrade...at least for me.
ICS usually lags, and simply has bugs.
Luckily we had Flappjaxxx, bigfau, and our other skilled devs to give ICS a much needed boost in performance, but without them, ICS simply sucks .
My best speeds and stability are with a stripped stock and OC'd GB build.
I run this one (running it to type this with smart keyboard pro)...for the volume wake feature. Were it not for that, I'd be running stock rooted.
Let em laugh.....I'm running GB...and even after JB drops...I'll likely be back here anyway. As Saurom, and it's stock counterpart, give me exactly what I want....a fast and reliable build, without any reason to change....g
P.S. We need a developer with an itch for a retro-pet project ....g

Do I need to odin GB than flash this or I can just flash this from any rom I'm using. Also what is the best kernel to pair with this.
Thanks.

Download the Saurom full rom
Then the 7.1
Then the att fix
Then any other mods like volume wake ....etc.
Make sure they are on your device...
Then boot into recovery, and full wipe The device.(cache, dalvik, system, and DATA !!!
Then flash the above files you downloaded....in that order (and your flash counter reset .zip if you care about it)(can be done later)
After flashing, wipe cache and dalvik cache again..(this prevents the play store bug, and cleans the build)
Reboot and make it yours...
This rom is full of custom options, and will take a few hours to set up the way you like it. It is already running an OC kernel, and supports UV/OV...has
Init.d scripting support, BLN support, and a host of goodies.
You'll soon see why I love this build. It had arguably, the best development team, and most work done to it....of any rom we currently have.
It's a smooth and steady keeper build.
Just ask me if you have questions....as I use this build for my DD.
NOTE : it also contains the ATT Ril libs, and current APN settings...so it's plug and play....
Enjoy ....g
