Z2 screen comparison

Hi guys,
Similar to Pureminds M7 and M8 screen comparison I got my good M8 (as opposed to the yellow bad M8) and put it up against my Z2.
I must say that I am very impressed with the overall quality of the Z2s screen. Great white balance and contrast, but the colours are as we expected blown out. Even with x-reality off. Brightness was almost as good and viewing angles similar.
I used Display Tester from the Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gombosdev.displaytester&hl=en

Now before I get ripped on I must say that my testing is NOT scientific like Pureminds but just my eyes looking.
I have also attached the two M8s comparison to see how they compare. The Z2 comparison M8 is the whiter/cooler phone.

Wow! thanks for the comparison.

Z2 screen is really amazing. There's actually a differences between M8, Z2 gives a much more natural vibrant colours.

Wtf m8 screen is so much nicer, just look at pictures, omg. Sony needs another step in display

From what you've shown, the Z2 is able to show colours (look at the flowers and the main red test, M8 red looks orange) better while the M8 has better brightness. the contrasts however look comparable.

Additionally though could you include the banding, contrast and saturation tests as well please? (Or for convenience the all in one test)

This is orange, not red

I could see more detail of the red flower on the Z2.
I will take more photos when I can. I ran out of time. I gave my dad the M8.

Have you turned off the automatic brightness?

Both on full brightness. M8 was slightly brighter. It's interesting that the Z2 has such low auto brightness values too.

Xperia Z2's display is bit dimmer compare to M8 but blacks are better and also red colour really pops up spite that M8 looks better overall

Show us both phones with the same image. IMHO I like both screens a lot but z2 is my personal favourite.

I love the screen on my m8 but I bought the z2 the other day and couldn't believe that the z2 has a nice screen. Side by side my m8s screen has a blue tint to it. Looking at the same pics the contrast is better on the z2 and that is with the x reality feature off. Very nice screen on the z2

Anyone have a stuck pixel? I have a green one that appears when it's booting up.

I had a green stuck pixel, it's easy to spot on a black background with full brightness. I've since exchanged it and no stuck pixels this time but I have a gap between the glass and bezel in the bottom left corner. Awaiting a new exchange, here's to hoping that 3rd will be a charm.
