Awesome news, glad I got the Galaxy S2! Looking forward to official release
I think people are taking this the wrong way. Rather than Samsung selling the phone with CM7 preloaded they are simply encouraging the community to support it with custom ROMs...in this case Cyanogenmod.
Am I wrong?
Absolutely correct. They are supporting the community but they would never put something like CM as stock on their device. Especially since CM7 features require the phone to be rooted. Also, there are still many bugs in CM as a result of the advanced features, as you can see by looking on the CM7 forums.
Also, they love using touchWiz.
I certainly love CM7 on my HD2. I would love to see industrial involvement...the backing and expertise of huge companies...to refine and make CM the best it can be.From the link posted in 1st post: "We don't know when atinm might be able to release some usable code for the SGS2, but while we're excited about that possibility, the thing we're really happy about is seeing a smartphone manufacturer embrace a hacking community like this. Do you think Samsung could just be an outlier, or is this a sign of things to come?"
I think this happend yesterday - http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#change,6279.
All things considered these are very good news! Hope CM is getting even more popular and better .
