Backup using Titanium Backup, uninstall SwiftKey, install modded version, restore Data using TB.

Clarification on Market Version

So I ignored the "-v4" suffix and it worked.

A few findings that may help others moving forward.
I am using the paid Market version.
- After decompiling the APK, drawable has 78 items, where the themed attachment has 71.
- HDPI drawable, and MDPI drawable both have 58, so no issue there.
- When deleting all 78 in drawable, and adding the 71, when I compile, I receive an error saying it didnt work.
- What I did to get it working was copy the 71 items in the attachment, and went to APKManager/Projects/SwiftKey/res/drawable and "file" > "paste". This overwrote the 71 with the themed icons, and the 7 rogue items stayed. When compiling it worked. So whatever those additional 7 items are, they are important (and sounds like only pertain to the Market version)...

Thank You sonnysekhon, this is saweet. Swiftkey is extremely under-rated, and for being one of the only mod's thus far, it is great and certainly welcomed.

Those of you who got it from Amazon, do us get an app store error after modding? To change settings I have to temporarily go back to a non-modded version and then switch back using titanium backup to preserve my data.

Those 7 items are actually xml files which the apk requires for it to work. Hope that helps. I think to keep confusion level low, OP should change it to "Copy & Paste files over, instead of completely "replacing folder".

This is something I came up with during photoshop.

Inspiration came from the shag icons

I only have time to make for mdpi currently, the response for this will determine if this proj is worthy to start.

This theme looks awesome! But I can't find the SwiftKey apk on my phone?? What is the file name and where is it located? I looked in system/app and it is not there.

What's the error message?
My guess would be that you get it because the app has been resigned.

Noob alert, but I'm confused.

5. Go to APK Manager\projects\Swiftkey and copy & paste the files over in the right locations, don't completely replace the folders. If you want to keep the original font, don't replace the font files.

Could you expand on Step 5??

Where do you copy the files to? (what are the right locations?)

Follow the same path as my zip and copy the files accordingly. For example, the files in res/drawable go in res/drawable.

Extract it anywhere you like and copy and paste the files in the Swiftkey folder in apkmanager.

I must be having a thick day, as I can't seem to figure it out.

I've got as far as step 5, with no errors or issues.
I have then copied the files from the Projects folder and sub folders and placed them in the relevant folders, within the Swiftkey extracted zip (which I downloaded from your original post) I only copied over the files and not the whole folders.

I then go to step 6 and select 11 and then enter, I then get an error message to check the log file and this is what I get

You need to edit smali code for that. I will look into that and a few other things (like changing letter colors on touch) this weekend.

You are doing it backwards

. In step 5, copy the files from my zip to the one in the projects folder.

I forget exactly, but basically it said there was an amazon app store error and to re-download the progran, then it force closes the application. This only happens in the settings dialog. I can use the keyboard without problems.

I did resign the application as per the OP instructions, so is here a way to sign it and avoid the app store check?
