unable to get 12.1.A.1.205 working from root+CWM 12.0.A.1.257
Thanks to OP for this procedure. I agree that I am not comfortable taking someone else's (country) FTF for my phone.
However, I have faced some issues trying the steps here:
I have used FlashTool to get SEUS files decrypted and generated FTF file for 12.1.A.1.205. I have created my system.zip using OP's method.
For every attempt, I start out with flashing 12.0.A.1.257 (India) FTF, root it with doomlord's easy rooting toolkit v18 and then proceed to put CWM from
[CWM][LB][4.3]Philz, CWM Touch and TWRP for Xperia SP LB [2014-06-09]. Reboot and then in CWM, do factory data reset + clearing dalvik cache. After that I flash the system.zip and UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.93.zip. After this I poweroff and flash my 12.1.A.1.205 kernel (full FTF without wiping APPSLOG, CACHE, USERDATA and excluding PARTITION, FOTA, BASEBAND, SYSTEM and ELABEL).
1. Commonly, I have faced issue that CWM flash of system.zip would not complete. I took help from
[TUT] creating simple update.zip and
[GUIDE] Making your own Flashable zips to make my own META-INF folder. As a result, the flashing of system.zip now completes.
2. In this thread itself,
ikiji posted the method to flash our created FTF excluding the system part. I tried using my own FTF from decrypted blob_fs files. If I flash the entire FTF with defaults, I get a working phone without root/cwm. If I flash only kernel (includes only kernel.sin and loader.sin), I see a boot loop only showing the SONY logo. The colour LEDs don't flash, so even CWM was wiped out.
Now, my question / request for help is: Is there a way for me to flash my system.zip from CWM and then flash only the kernel from 12.1.A.1.205 without losing CWM or getting stuck in boot loop?
Thanks.

[Update - June-17-2014] I have managed to get root on 12.1.A.1.205 using
this post. Now have CWM+SuperSU+BusyBox.
