Back story
I managed to brick my SGS within 24 hours of getting it:
My computer wouldn't (and still doesn't) recognise my phone (sometimes for a few minutes at a time) when I plugged it in.
I thought it would be a great idea to try flashing from to Froyo from Eclair anyway, and while it was going on, my pc disconnected the phone and bricked it COMPLETELY... I pulled the bat, tried all the 3 button combos (they worked before I flashed, I tested to make sure), and nothing worked...

I spent hours looking through the forums and the only advice I saw was to try a jig, before reading that for a 100% bricked phone it would not work...

What to do
- Take of the back case of your SGS, inbetween the camera and the speaker, you will see a little circular hole...
- Take a pin/pen and poke it...
- Hold the hole pressed in and press the 3 button combo for download/recovery mode

It should go into download mode and from there you can flash on a fresh firmware!

I saw NO mention of this hard reset's existence anywhere on the website at all, it worked perfectly for me!

My launcherpro is listed twice in the task manager?? I don't think this is right, does anybody know whats wrong?

It seems to be using twice the ram because of this, and when I stop one of them everything runs fine, but it reappears in the task manager after a while and then it uses double ram again. Its annoying.

bricked sgs

hi all
i installed insanity 070 (all working fine)
then rom manger
selected install rom from SD in rom manager and went to select the sound pack from the first post of this thread.
phone rebooted then got stuck on the first boot screen galaxy's i900.
did not move for an hour.

my fix was an eblaze re flash as mentioned in my previous post.

can someone confirm that this rom and rom manager work ok.

as if i select install rom from sd in rom manager then select it the phone reboots and stays on the first boot screen.

Got stuck at boot also instaling through rom manager. Do not use rom manager. Download zip and install through cwm.

Ok I had posted earlier about the game Unblock me free and how it was`nt registering my movements correctly.
Well I tried another Unblock me(Lego) and it works perfectly, BUT its squished, I have my DPI set to 240 tried 220 still the same, I`m stumped....

Well I kind of sorted out the Unblock Me thing, I unticked the app scaling in Nitrality, went back to 240 DPI, rebooted, un installed current Unblock game, restored my back up one with data and its all sorted again.

So with the app scaling unticked now all my apps are perfect? I don`t know

I'm not a fan of Rom Manager either, had a couple of issues with it. Per Ramas123, I would just flash it through CWM. For a clean install try EZbase http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=991792 and then install v7 through CWM.

Answerd far far above...
Seems that cwm in RomManager and installed cwm arw different.
Try:
Download/take zip and install directly via recovery... or reorganize zip for insanity app...

Thank you very much for the file, but after downloadinsanity-theme-tobalman.zip
-->> rename the file from insanity-theme-tobalman.zip to insanity-theme.zip

-->> copy /sdcard/insanity/insanity-theme.zip

running install using nitality to install it. my start up screen got loop at start up.

I have to restore everything back in CWM.

Been test it since last night but got the same error.

All I needed is the glowing circle battery in Crysis theme. LOL

Any more help would be greatly appreciated.

Same here!
Rom seems to be stuck but it is just in recovery mode
Fix that worked for me "adb reboot" ->rebooted back to insanity 7.0
atm i don't have any recovery mode, need to work that out

So recovery mode working again, was just me not removing the usb cable when going into recovery mode by pressing the 3-buttons.

But, to clarify: If you are using Rom Manager and installing Insanity 7 (i did a backup with rom manager before the backup so i know it worked with Insanit 6.9) then you are stuck in the boot-screen and can not enter recovery mode, for whatever reason. Entering Download mode worked fine, recovery -> no.
I really don't know what you can do other than reinstall by using ezbase etc. if you don't have USB-Debug enabled so that you can use adb.

The ROM itself is perfect and is getting smoother and better in every version. I gave cynogenmod beta a try between using insanity and have to say in my opinion insanity is far better.

First of all amazing rom nitr8... With this rom you gave as everything. I'm with insanity since 0.6.x and there is no other rom for me.

Did a clean ezbase flash than flashed 7.0.

Only thing that I noticed is that the part of my sgs where the sim and sd cards are is geting very hot when I charge my phone with the wall charger. Does someone facing the same thing?

Just one estetic thing... The ginger black keyboard that you posted few days ago, when you type in landscape mode the numbers are a bit blury on the keyboard =)

I've updated from 0.6. 9 to 7.0 RTM with RomManager without any problems... Recovery Mode still working.
Do you have it working out of the box or did you patch any 3 button combo fix?

Its going to be a bit quite from me for a while

My phone went for a swim today.... All I can say is its very clean now

I have not turned it on yet, but it is in a bowl of rice in my "biltong box" a box I use for drying meat - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biltong nummie

So I guess I will leave it there for a while and just monitor this space, but I cannot do any testing or nudda till then.
