Hi all.
I thought i give you a little hint what you can do with your Desire.
Have you always wanted a bigger screen?
Now there is a way.
It's been known for a while but not many people done it on Desire what i've seen.
You do it by changing LCD Density.
The original is 240.
A good value is 200.
You cannot do this on the phone because we dont have full root :)
You can do it with 2 ways.
Either use ADB
Or just simple edit a ROM :)
I will add this feature soon to my kitchen so you all can do it easy.
If you want to do it in a ROM now this is how.
1. Unzip the rom
2. Go to the sytem folder and open build.prop in notepad.
3. Find lcd.density, the current value should be 240.
4. Change it to 200
5. zip the ROM
6 factory reset
7. flash the ROM
8 and you are now set to go with a bigger screen ^^ kind of :p

ADB method:
adb pull /system/build.prop

Edit the file save

adb push build.prop /system/build.prop
Thanks lennyuk

UPDATE:
It now works with the app from market!
also
DONT F****KING forget to turn off compatibility mode :=)

basically it makes your screen look a bit "zoomed out" i.e. smaller (so you get more on the screen.

Or alternative increase the number to make your phone more "zoomed in" i.e. everything is bigger, fit less on the screen.

Hmmmm .. Not bad . Get around 2 lines extra visibility ... Its like increasing resolution of our phones . What would u recommend the real recommended resolution; 200 or the current 240, for our amoled Desire's ?

I use 180.

Have had no problems with it. Works great with adw launcher.

Make sure you turn off compatibility mode in spare parts or you will encounter problems with some apps.

hold the widget, like you were to move it, then let it go when it vibrates without moving it. then you can drag it bigger/smaller.
