You can use xposed module if u found it hard to modify the systemui. You can google for Gravity Box. I prefer use xposed because it is much more easier

xposed modules with my phone make many lags and the device become so boring

Maybe you need to upgrade to 4.4.2 roms

Seriously?

I use xposed module but i didnt get any lag issue. I also underclocked it for battery life

and my phone is running smooth
