Thanks a lot I couldn't figure out how to launch my internet shortcut tiles in the metro immersive browser, kept loading in Desktop browser
But does anyone know how to load an internet shortcut in inprivate mode ?

Try making them like IE shortcut (iexplorer.exe -private http://url) I'm not sure if you need to put -private or -inprivate. See for yourself

No luck tried both even with removing iexplore.exe.
I don't think this method works through Oblytile.

Well I was stupid and updated to Windows 8.1, should have waited for the first reviews. Anyway Now all my custom tiles are gone, and I had a lot of them. Do you guys think there is a way to rescue them?
And by the way, do you guys know how to add already installed Software to the front page? The guy in the video just pulled them up and I can't reach that part because every time I drag my mouse up nothing shows up.

Try the little arrow in the bottom left corner.
BTW, OblyTile works with 8.1 too, only the mini icon show IE icon (in the apps menu and the front page preview).
What little arrow do you mean? Are you using 0.9.1 or is there a newer version? I am using that version right now and my manager is completely empty, non of the shortcuts are there. I thought it would be possible to recreate them by simply browsing the files that OblyTile crated back then.

My oblytile program created a folder in the C drive under program files (non x86 folder) and in the obly tile folder is a bunch of folders from the very first tile i created to the last. each time you create a new tile the program saves it into this main folder with a serial number, counting up. i have about 80+ created tiles so far and probably need to recreate twenty. oh. almost forgot to say. these numbered folders have a bunch of info like the application and the associated picture. i wonder if theres a way to quickly recreate tiles using this.

I guess we will have to wait for a new version of OblyTile. Those small icons are a new feature.
Anyway, thanks for telling me where the icons are saved, that way I was able to find a lot of my icons, some of them are self made.

fixed it. The problem was that I changed some settings. I opened this folder here C:\Program Files\OblyTile\00000000 and there was this Launcher.vbs file. I thought I could restore them when I open them with OblyTile and I accidentally changed it so it always opens those scripts with OblyTile instead of that MS default tool. I changed it back to default and now it works. I noticed this because every time I clicked on a shortcut it would start OblyTile.
About that program path, OblyTile changes it like that. When I enter steam://rungameid/48190 to the path it automatically moves it down and puts Steam.exe there itself.

Working on the next update of OblyTile.
With the new update it will be possible to create: Tiny Tiles, Square Tiles, Wide Tiles, Larger Tiles. :good:

And I probably won't use the wide and large tiles, because for me they are only useful as a live tile, but good to see them coming! :good:

317This program is meant to create tiles to the Windows 8/8.1 start screen.
I created it in vb.net using SharpDevelop, it works for all programs/folder/files/websites.
The program will store the image files inside the folder "C:\Program Files\OblyTile" and create the Shortcut .LNK file inside the StartMenu folder.
If you want to remove a Tile, right click it on the start screen/menu and select "Remove From Start" or select a tile on the OblyTile Created Tile list and press the recycle bin button located on bottom right of OblyTile.
OblyTile has support for command line, you can check the list of available commands by running OblyTile with the "/?" as argument.
To remove OblyTile and revert to default windows settings you have to run OblyTile as administrator and click the Remove button located in the settings menu [Click the Wrench icon on top of OblyTile to access the settings menu]
Note: Do not expect a Windows 10 version anytime soon. Why?

Hey all,
To start; I'd like to thank all of you over the past 3 years for the support you've given me and the appreciation towards the work I've done. I really can't tell you how much it means and the confidence it has given me to explore what I do and continue improving.
I am trying my best to find a way for OblyTile to work on Windows 10, however I have stumbled in to some compatibility issues and so far I haven't figured out a way around these and just wanted to make you all aware that it may not be possible for OblyTile to work on Windows 10.
I'll keep trying.
With that being said, any progression I make will be updated right here. Along with any news or other possible avenues for me to explore. But don't expect anything in the immediate future as MS have changed the OS from their first builds and these issues aren't small as what was possible, is no longer.

Also, I've done a model for GIMP for creating tiles (including the right dimension of the image and the correct font and size of it) and a ZIP archives with the tiles i've created.
Some of them comes from a FANTASTIC metro UI tiles set that Devianart user ~dAKirby309 created. You can find the whole set HERE, check it out! The other ones are made by images of the games and the applications I own, searching 'em on Google Images.
