Korea's Addiction to Mobile Devices

- With mobile devices such as smart-phones and tablets coming into wider use, Korea's wireless traffic has been surging at an alarming rate. The mobile data traffic grew from 38,124 TB in July 2012 to 105,182 TB in July 2014, posting a growth rate of 175.89%. The total annual traffic was 424,763 TB in 2012 and 761,900 in 2013.

US Long-Term Treasury Yields on the Fall

- Recently, US long-term treasury yields have been declining at a noticeable rate. The main reasons behind this are: 1) US assets are back in the spotlight due to recent concerns over deflation in the Euro-zone, and 2) banking regulators in the US are demanding banks to hold more low-risk assets.
