You know, I've seen all sorts of negatives said about BLN, but most seem almost mythological. lol I've used it full time for about a year, on various kernels and ROMs. Only real bug I've ever seen is that it seems to interfere with vibration feedback at times with some kernels. Which, I can see why you'd leave it out for that. Was just curious, as that's my must have feature. Thanks for taking the time to answer!

The only issue with bln is it random reboots across all kinds of msm8660 devices.

I'm blown away by how solid this ROM is. I don't know what I was expecting, but this is incredibly smooth, even in comparison to the latest JB 4.3 Carbon nightly I was on before flashing this one.

I hope DPI settings are coming soon. Everything feels so huge when you're used to 200 DPI. Also, some of the text in the menu dialogues is actually too big to display fully, which is kind of annoying.

You can always change DPI through build prop :) .
I'll see about adding that feature in.
In the mean time,

try adjusting the font size.

Yeah I found that shortly after posting. Should do for now.

Forgive me if I'm a little confused about how all this ROM business works, but will all or most of the features from the Carbon 4.3 ROM eventually be ported over? Specifically, I really miss Halo. There's an Xposed module for it but it only does floating window and it's just not as solid IMO. That Carbon 4.3 ROM really spoiled me with all those awesome features lol.

This ROM is still great though and I look forward to it's development.

When halo is released by pa, carbon will release it. It's finished on our side.
And yes 4.3 features plus 4.4 features will be added.
Glad you like it.

I've downloaded the latest nighty 5 times, with two different devices, and the md5 check always fails.

The screen doesn't timeout and turn off when "wake screen on new notification" is enabled for lockscreen notifications. What is the time set for time out? it doesn't seem to turn off by itself; i have to manually turn it off. Therefore, it drains battery

Good news, bad news. Good news is that the 2/5 nightly is running great. Bad news is that the server is down for maintenance.

SGH-I727 Peace

My apologies. It's temporary.
Enjoy it ?. You can mirror it if you want.

The stock kernel! the one that came installed with the ROM.

I have
  • Active Display disabled
  • no slider targets (except unlock)
  • blur enabled
  • stock kernel
  • Carbon nightly Feb 3

It was also a clean install

Sorry for the late reply,
I run the same settings.
I'll look into it.

The e-mail distribution from Carbon Rom stated that "downloads and other services will be operating sporadically from now and most likely throughout the weekend."
They are migrating to a new server.

    About Carbon

CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.

Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub. and on our Gerrit CarbonDev Gerrit.

We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.

Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.

While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

    Support

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:

    1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.

    2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ

    3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.

    4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

    Who is Team Carbon?

    Find out here:

    Carbon Team

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

Did the server crash again today?

    SGH-I727 Peace

    Sigh. Yea.

It appears the mobile version of the site is not working correctly. After clicking on skyrocket, the nightly and stable links are missing. If I go to the nightly page directly by using the http://carbon-rom.com/downloads/?device=skyrocket&type=nightly it displays the the list of downloads, but nothing is clickable. Now, when I go to the page from my computer, everything is working as it should. Just finished downloading the 2/14 nightly as I am posting this response.

Mobile site got screwed by server migration.
