Apologies if this has already been covered, but do I need S-OFF to install a custom ROM (assuming Super CID is required)? I have unlocked my bootloader with HTCDev and have rooted with KGS utility but just can't get that wire trick working (must be like five attempts now).

i think S-OFF is better....in S-ON u have to flash the boot.img manually...

If that's the only reason it seems like a lot of hassle and risk to just do that, when I can just use smartflash or flash it manually?
