I don't think anyone here in this forum would rather have a Kindle!! If they do then they should sell their N7 FHD and buy an iPad an get it over with!! If I wanted to be told how my tablet should look an function, then I woulda bought an iPad! Sure you can root the Kindle to change its looks, but you can also jailbreak an iPad to change its looks as well. That said, my N7 FHD is rooted as well as my Asus Infinity, Note 2, Evo LTE, and Evo 3D. I root because I like modifying my devices and playing around with them. You shouldn't HAVE to root or jailbreak a device just to be able to perform basic functions and/or basic aesthetic changes though! Not if you actually expect me to pay for it anyway.
I think that Kindle does have its place in the Android tablet market, and that's for elderly people or children who need/want things more simplified for them. Same thing with Apple phones and tablets, they are fine for people who don't know much about electronics and need a much simpler and basic device that does everything for you.
I think anyone who wishes they'd have bought a Kindle instead of a Nexus tablet is the same as wishing you would have bought an iPad instead of a Nexus tablet!! I realize Kindle is Android based, but it's still locked down like how Apple does their iPad. Maybe if I was old and wore aPad(diapers) then I'd buy an iPad, hahaha
. If someone actually prefers a Kindle over a Nexus, then they have no business with a Nexus to begin with!!
