Default Juice Defender?

I've used Juice Defender beta with Ultimate for a long time and was wondering with ICS if it is still really relevant. Anyone have any thoughts?

DONATE TO ME
There are articles online stating they use more battery than they save. But really is 12+ hours without charging and screen on for 4-6 really that bad?

Over longer periods of time, yes Juice defender will save you battery. Shorter periods, the difference is negligible.

Also, the articles about battery savers not saving battery only referred to some that were poorly coded and implemented. I do not believe Juice Defender was on the list.

Just turn off mobile data if you know you're not going to use it for a while and you're basically accomplishing the same thing. No need for an app to run in the background to do it for you. I used to use JD back in the OG EVO days and yeah it helped, but with this phone it is definitely NOT needed. We are way past that point now.

Yes, it isn't about the phone or the OS, it's about the apps. The key feature of Juice Defender IMO is the ability to put limits on what apps can use data and when. Rather than having your radios fire up every time an app wants something, you're able to exercise some control.

That's what I was thinking as well. Was thrown off as someone had posted an easter egg finding by using quick shortcuts to open the "Power Savings Settings" menu on the HOXL. So it made me think that the Rom itself had the features like turning Wifi off when not in use baked in. I'm using Juice Defender and just took my time configuring apps and it seems to be doing it's job well. x's 1.73 at the moment. Thanks for the feedback

id suggest letting your OS manage your battery ive tried it all and always had issues. i get 13.5 hours of use with 39% battery life remaining. this was with moderate use though the day. checking txts and calls with some internet fun too. I am also on WCX roms
