Default Google Search APK

Anyone have any alternate ideas for installing?

I found the APK but install results in Parse Error : There is a problem parsing the package.

Tried putting it in System/APP and rebooting, didn't work either. Trying to install latest version so that I can use utter! (app developed here - XDA) offline.

In my opinion, the problem of parsing the package has nothing to do with ICS.
Check the folder /system/app to see if you have the Google Service Framework or related apks. If not, download a framework, install it and try again.
Some ROM cooker deleted the framework for some reasons, just like the CM10 I'm using now.

Because there is no LiquidSmooth JB let alone an official release of JB for my phone. Refuse to install even a custom ROM if there isn't an official ROM out even if they do not coincide. And I already have Google Now on it, but its not the newest version with offline voice commands which is what I primarily need it for.

Parsing error is due to incomplete download too. Try downloading it again.

Winner is.

I ended up finding a Jelly Bean Rom after all of this of getting (and successfully) at getting it working.
