Yes, the same thing is happening to me. I have mine running 2.9.1, mounted next to my bed. Only thing I do is use it for an alarm clock, calendar and watch netflix before dropping off to sleep.

Worked great for a couple weeks, but now, I'm seeing the same wi-fi disconnects, netflix sputters and pauses at least once every episode. Haven't changed routers, and the router is only about 4 feet away, and my other wls devices, including phones and notebooks don't seem to be having any problem.

I was thinking of just re-flashing, but I can't imagine how (other than it resetting all the data), that it would just "go bad".

But yes, I am seeing the same type thing.

I'm one of the diehards still on 2.9.1 and except for one touchscreen lockup, and one won't wake up, i haven't had any reboots or any other ongoing issue.
never had any problems with wifi, and i use wifi toggle on home screen.
power or home button to turn on display, hit wifi toggle, and I'm good to go.
Netflix, forums, lotta web browsing, gmail, cribbage and real racing 2.
i don't use the camera that 'works' but doesn't take pictures :)
sorry, i know what you mean, but i find that funny !
when I'm done, i hit wifi toggle off, hit screen off & lock icon on home screen (one less power button press),
and it's back to sleep.
2.9.1 pretty damn solid in my book.

Maybe WiFi is the problem. I leave it on, maybe it is munching through the bits internally while in sleep mode. Kind of like a sleep disorder!

I'll try what you do, I have a WiFi widget because I continually have to bounce it anyway when it hangs.

not bad, but tax season upon me, so not much time for playing.
using awesome 2.9.1 while they do their ics thing.
look forward to most everything working on that.
damn i have a crack by speaker now, about an inch long... hhmmmm

Thanks. I did find this version from searching the net but I was hoping for a better solution because this way I'd have to search again each time there's an update. Obviously it's not the end of the world but I just thought there might be a way of getting the market to recognise the Touchpad as a tablet. Maybe by editing the build.prop or something? I know some phone ROMs do something similar in order to be able to play certain games.

I feel stupid as i have a few questions.

I have tried to follow the instructions on the main page but with the Novacom drivers, i cannot find them. Where could i download them from? Or even some clearer instructions, or a way that someone managed to install Android onto there touchpad???

With the ceasing of dev for this ROM, I've finally decided to jump on the ICS bandwagon. While ICS has it's issues, I no longer have the tons of SD card issues I had with CM7 so I don't mind dealing with the CM9 issues since I know that the CM7 issues probably won't be resolved! See you guys on the other side!

Opera runs great for me on 0.6, at least as fast as it was on XRON. Try setting the Up Threshold to 35% in SetCPU (Advanced > Up Threshold), should speed things up a bit.

The only problem I have had is the lack of Flash (or properly working Flash).

Edit: Oh yeah, forgot to mention - Opera 11.5.5 is horrible on ICS, make sure you are running 10.5.3.

Hi,

I am using CM7 XRONified vB2.9.1 (odex_01032012.zip) since a few months, and I have tried back to WebOS. Then a nice power down + reboot, back to CM7... but the system is looping on the splashscreen.
I have tried to power down, 5, 10 , 50 seconds, with no luck... it still buggy !

Does anyone experienced this thing, and had a solution how to shut it down ?

Edit: I have tried some things
- plugging the power supply -> nothing happened
- plugging the USB to a computer -> a "removable disk" appeared, but unreachable, and a zero size

Seems I have to wait 'till the battery drains up !?

EDIT-2 : power + central button + vol. UP during a few seconds.
Maybe this can helps someone else :)

* This is a system pull from my touchpad with everything working. If anything doesn't work please report so we can address them. This is slightly bloated but look at reverendkjr's YouTube video in post 2 for a how to uninstall.

If you are coming from vB2.9 deodex, you simply wipe cache and dalvik, flash and reboot.

If you are coming from Odex you have two options.

* Factory reset and wipe cache/dalvik, reboot recovery and flash rom. Preferred.
or
* Using root explorer app, goto system/app and delete the browser odex and terminal odex files then you can wipe cache/dalvik, reboot recovery, and flash ROM.

It's known that the system may reboot a couple times after you set it up. Let it settle in and the reboots should stop. It's still organizing the system some. If it continues, please report it.

This is smooth as butta.....

    Installation instructions:

    1) Download the latest version either on your Touchpad or computer
    2) If you already have CM7 or XRONified installed, place the above zip on the root directory of your Touchpad
    3) Reboot in to recovery
    4) Wipe cache AND dalvik cache (under advanced menu option)
    5) Flash zip. (if you are coming from CM7 you MUST wipe factory reset/cache/dalvik first)

    If you do not have Android on your Touchpad you will need to do this.

    1) Make sure you have novacom drivers installed on your computer
    2) Download the ROM of your choosing and rename to update-cm-xronified.zip
    3) Boot your Touchpad in to webOS and mount the USB port
    4) Create a folder called cminstall (do not capitalize0
    5) Put moboot 0.3.5 inside cmintall folder (Download HERE)
    6) put update-cwm-tenderloin-1012.zip inside cminstall folder
    7) Place the renamed ROM inside cminstall folder
    8) Download ACMEInstaller and ACMEUninstaller from HERE
    9) unmount USB and reboot, hold volume up key and power button at the same time until it gets to bootloader mode (USB symbol)
    10) go to where you have your novacom drivers and folder (usually c://program files (x86)/HP webOS/SDK/bin and open command window by holding yoru shift key and right click in that window, select open command window here option.
    11) type the following at the command prompt

    novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller

    It will install the latest ROM via acmeinstaller...

    Please read and use this method before you PM me or flood the thread with how to install questions.

    thanks for clarifying.

    There's a weird you vs them vibe going on which I hope doesn't last. I would prefer everyone contribute to the source for the Touchpad project in general rather furthing their own projects. My intention in releasing the source code is not for folks to fork and their own "roms." My intention is for the community to embrace the open source code in a healthy way.

    There are many @ the xda community that do not understand where/who much of the work to make these devices run Android comes from. I don't expect everyone to understand git commits and source changes but I do think its time for this community to mature a bit in this regard. There needs to be more upstream code cooperation. A lot of people here preach open source but they do not seem to actually want to use it in a healthy way.

    I hope to see many peoples name in the commit logs for the Touchpad rather than just myself and a few others.

    I'm not trying to single you out in particular, just would like to get this point across to everyone.


    I normally wouldn't make a post like this and would just go about my business, but I think sleep deprivation from working on the Touchpad has gotten the best of me.
