this is based off of the lg gt540 froyo
non-booting non-flashing as of yet
im still working on it though
feel free to download aand try with me
but please let me if you make any progress so i can add
any fixes to my source data
we cant use a custom boot .img
but does anybody know if we can intergrate kernel modules
without to much hassle
btw i am using the bootstrap recovery from second post
other potential devs should use this recovery so we can keep our work
easy to share between us

I think I have a stock Central Europe(shipped w/o blur) ROM extracted, including the boot image, recovery image, and all the /system contents. The bad news is that the boot and recovery have to be signed images, so i guess before anyone cracks the bootloader we won't be messing with boot(and the kernel).

that should be fine i have no intentions of change anything but the system.img anyway

flipout recovery app should work fine i was gonna use advanced restore to switch system
images

i will be delayed by couple of days
orange say they cant repair it now so i have ordered one
from expansys should arrive wednesday

i will hunt for the original
as quick as i can i have two 5 terabyte internal drives and three 2 terabyte external drive

Hmm... the update.zip from Motorola doesn't help much, since it's not a full flash image. Stuff dumped from the modded CWM recovery works, but has already been somewhat modded in order to boot the recovery.

See if we can find any sbf full flashes like these. I'm uploading the system image from the deblured Central Europe ROM soon.

would love to know how with bootloader locks'n'all
ibricked my flipout 3 weeks ago
couldnt find any thing else but my phone wouldnt boot so i couldnt try it
thats why ive ordered one from expansys
they even asked if i wanted blur or not

Thanks but this is the upgrade to uk orange rom...i have it but it needs stock orange rom to be installed as I have installed retail flipout rom on mine without backing the original up...and my flipout is having problem with reception and gps so i need to send for warranty checkup...and retail rom on orange phone wont b covered in warranty....WARRANTY VOID already coz of retail rom

just wana install stock rom n send it back for repairs

orange wernt interested when i asked them for it
when trying to fix mine and motorola say
that it is oranges responsibility to provide it

btw did you tell them you flashed it or not

and as far as sbf ruth site suggests orange uk .sbf doesnt exist
only for france

you could try the uk blur then flash the update.zip
might work

my new handset will be debranded euro

would it work if you restore just the system.img from another orange flipout then unroot
because the cwm recovery for this thing isnt flashed to the recovery partition
orange shouldnt see it

BTW, the /system/bin/charge_only_mode looks interesting to me, wonder if it can be used to boot a custom recovery.

that charge_only_mode looks possible but how could we use it
as i say im just learning

im not sure how i bricked it
i got a black screen sayin summin like arm crash blah blah
i left it for a day but it wouldnt even boot

Hmm... arm crash... that sounds like some hardware problems... ouch.

So far I am sure that charge_only_mode is what displays the big battery screen when you plug in the phone while the phone's off.
