ROM is running great except for these errors in LogCat.
Despite this the phone seems to have no problem sleeping.

Any ideas how to track these down?

Been a long while since I have looked into rom updates.....Synergy room appears to be dead....so I was glancing over this rom.

Synergy rom (4.1.2) has been running perfectly on my S3 for about a year now...and I really have no plans or needs to upgrade my device,....so...I guess I am looking for reasons to upgrade the OS.....

So...whats with this new 4.3 ? I haven't really heard anything that is worth the bother to wipe and flash this newer os...

I realize this is a Clean rom, but since I have not paid any attention to what full stock 4.3 has improved....I have no idea if I would want a clean rom or not(especially since there isn't going to be a full featured version of this as previous post mentioned.)

Also, does anyone know if DSP Manager still works with Kit Kat(4.4)(I have to have that system app as I use my phone as my main media player)....I still use and old .zip to flash that and it works fine in ICS, and JB.....not sure if there is a newer zip for kit kat.

Also, I assume this won't lock my boot loader whatever the new software has been doing?

Sill wondering what is "better" in 4.3 than from 4.1.2...all the other threads I have read....seem a bit old....says I will loose root and lock bootlaoder if I want 4.3.

Roms will not lock down. OTA and Odin of image file will. No roms ever flash firmware. Lots better if still on Synergy. You are about a year behind. Synergy isn't even full 4.1.2. It is base 4.1. :cool:

For anyone that wants to know where the "*not* use the "provided zips" option is, the setting is reached by:
  1. In the first menu select - Install Zip
  2. In the install zip menu select - Don't Allow Old update-binary (*), this will remove that asterisk

This is in Philz Touch 6, the one I currently have, and I've made no changes to the GUI or anything so its stock Philz6.

If you don't change the "Old update-binary" setting, the install will error out with "Expected 5 args got 4" when trying to flash CleanROM 8 Core.

Hope that helps someone.

Don't mean to ramble on....but...It's just....Phone is running perfectly, has been since I flashed Synergy....and its all setup the way I like it (settings, inverted apps etc) with my current (out of date) rom.....I don't really see any reason/advantage of changing roms....other than being more up to date...don't think there really is any (new)major features I would be taking advantage of at this point.

I have been browsing some threads about 4.3...but there are far to many posts to read...and still....have yet to find a clear and concise list of "what's new on 4.3 for the S3" (I could be blind and have missed it somewhere). And I really did like how Synergy had all the options of stuff u could install when u flashed it...this stripped rom, I don't think has that..I do use some of the Samsung stuff...lol....its been far to long since I have been flashing...:silly:

I do have an upgrade available for my device...but S3 still does everything and more than I need. I am perfectly happy with what I currently have...and I don't like any of the current phones that VZW have anyway, especially since new models are much more locked down. Probably wont get a new one until my S3 breaks.

    And here it is folks the very firs CleanROM 8 based on Android 4.3!

    This ROM used to be called CleanROM Ultra Lite but now I changed the name to CleanROM Core Edition. Sounds trendier!

    There will be a full on Aroma CleanROM Eight build later next week. This is to whet your appetite some ;)


    Some notes here;

    • I think this will work on Safestrap devices. I have not tested. If it borks your device please let others know.
    • This is mega debloat. This may not be for everyone. But I wanted to put out something super Clean before I leave for vacation tomorrow (its only 4 days long).
    • As always, its a new version of Android and there could be bugs. If you find any please report them in a clear easy to understand way. Do not just say "App ABC" doesnt work!

    • This should be flashable on Safe Strap devices however you will need to reflash root from HERE!
    • To get all the toggles to show you up you have to go to the toggle editor and hit "reset"
    • Although the version number is 8, its still a fresh rebuild from a new android version. It may have unseen bugs. Please report any and all issues in a clear and concise manner
