Question A Question?

Hello TSDeaton,

I know that this question *MAY* be in the wrong thread, if it is, move it where it should be. Please don't shoot me!

First: I have Motorola Photon SPRINT phone, Model MB855, Android 2.3.4, kernel 2.6.32.9

Have you or anyone else experienced a funky reboot after sending or receiving a phone call? This happens without any kind of warning.

It doesn't happen every single time, but it does happen at least twice a day. It doesn't matter which phone number I calling or which number is calling me. The phone will reboot.

Is it a hardware issue or a software issue?

Should I go back to Sprint and get a replacement phone?

Any advise is greatly appreciated!

Serpius

This entire community is about teamwork and there are sooooo many ROM options including full blown CM7 by cybrix and cougarcougar and one of the most stable CM9 builds for any device without any kind of ics source from the manufacturer.

Everything about this phone is impressive. If Motorola unlocks the bootloader today it would not change a thing for me because I can not get 4G were I'm at. I also don't see it changing rom development much for this device either. We need ics. I don't care anymore about the bootloader for this phone. I just wish they would unlock the bootloader for the Atrix 2 lol

After being told to be mindful of what I post over at the Motorola owners support forums via email I have received another from them. Only this time it's for the May 2012 Soak test. Are they nuts?!?!? Do they think I'm going to let them lock me down?? Maybe I can get the package and see what's in it, although it's probably the same one that's out already.

I wonder if I could do the same as my DX let me do. I caught the update before it installed (already downloaded) and froze the updater and upgrader apk's with TiBu.

At that time I was tired of the reminders cause I kept saying "install later". Theoretically the upgrade package should be in the cache folder. Having root and root explorer should let me move it elsewhere to examine.

I'll have to think about that for a while. I'm lovin ICS and don't want to loose it.

i did that, last week >.> that 2.3.5 zip that i posted was their official stuff.

i had it posted but got a dmca takedown notice from richard at motorola (apparently one of their lawyers). so i pulled the zip. it locks your bootloader brings various updates to apps (nothing major just brings crap like google maps up to date etc etc. and IMO breaks hdmi out

males sense. Just thought it was strange that a week after it was posted that it's come out there's a new round of notices. Thought maybe there was something different or if there were bugs in the last one that are fixed already.

Did your message say something like "this will be a final release unless there are major issues reported"?

Just to make sure I posted properly, the message about it being a Final version was in the link I was taken to, not in my email.

Well I can ignore it, decline it, but I am not installing it. No matter what I do I probably won't be lucky enough to get chosen when they decide to Soak for ICS. {That would be a nice one to get certain "pieces"of}

I had 2.3.4 on my electrify and was stupid a couple months ago updating to 2.3.5... I was worried if I didn't update to 2.3.5 I wouldn't get 4.0.x.... STUPID! I hate blur so much even though its not that bad on electrify.... I use go launcher and go locker and go SMS.... Go whetting just to get rid of blur.... But would rather have a blurless, bloatless ICS on my electrify.....
