Well, even if I've nothing to do here cause I *Hate* Samsung ROMs, I've found everything that was going here funny. I'll, expose my point of view, without a biased point of view. But, with enough of general knowledge on ROMs whichever AOSP Or Samsung base, and development.
I've read the last few days (weeks?) That some crap was just getting out from here, with promises, promised updates, that were not coming, with lies all around.
Err, the S3 releases, actually proved the point of uppon2. That guy is 100% right. Sadly.
I respect checkRom and all the team behind, whoever they are. Developing does take time, I personally know it.
But, let's get serious for two seconds.
What the **** did you do there?
Didn't you learned from GM when he released (3.1.6? ) the brickbug kernel? When he found out, he instantaneously removed the links. Which should have been done here.
And GadgetCheck's attitude, Wolol, seriously? Of course not it is not a master piece. Or maybe a masterpieceof**** yeah. That kind of attitude with so much arrogance... Bwah. Now, let's go on with most important, or relevant posts here.

My team is developing LQ5 rom, but one of the reasons for the "unrealising" is the kernel.
Now tell me what s useful into a rom (a simply deodexed one) with no custom kernel (and no CWM) and with a kitchen EMPTY and that needs the custom recovery to apply the mods from kitchen.
I think u played,stop.
Don't blame *HIM*. Leaders told him to release, he did so. He probably joined the team lately, and the ones who moved to S3 don't care about S2 anymore. But still, should remote links. Yeah, sure missing features, etc. But as he said, just a base.

Lets just say, we were gonna build the ROM step by step...
Releasing the base was most important, because only from the feedback from it, we can add mods and stuff...
I don't play with the users who follow and use my work... If you feel otherwise, checkout all my post's in the DarkKnight Kernel thread... I say what I feel is right, and tell the truth to the user's...
I would just like to wish you all the best to you and your team for the LQ5 ROM and would like to stop this discussion right here...
@Anyone else...If you feel that I am playing with you guys, please let me know... I dont know how much more clear and pleasant can I be in my replies...
Bad idea. Releasing something which actually Brick devices should, must, lead to instant link removal. What ever it is. What Sammobile should have done actually.
Okay, you're not playing with us, well, with checkRom users. But the past developers did. By telling their fans fakes releases dates, false arguments on delayed releases, and so on. I don't know when you joined this team, so I can't put a blame on you.

there is one member on xda who has summed up the whole issue of this situation and that member's name is called uppon2.. just search the thread here and you guys will see what i am talking about...so in general what we have here is a poor excuse of a release and still a stinking communication by the main guys....
my advice..wait till the issues are resolved and if they come back with an update then make sure it is fine to flash as you guys do not want to be having any issues.
This is 100% true. Actually I went to this thread today to give CheckROM a go. Trying to not die stupid by wrong ideas on something I might have not tested. But all I know, I then I won't never do.
Blame CheckROM? Hell no. The ROM seemed good. Blame old developers that mirrored fakes releases dates, fake excuses, **** yeah.
I might get flamed for what I've wrote here, but heh, I don't really care.
Have fun, and, Cheers!

i'm with you man, my eyes are not blinded, i've already catched the handling of mister Leo and GC.
this rom is beeing developed by mister Dharam_Maniar and him only, the only thing that leo and GC helped on a V7 was clearing some doubts to this new DEV, i'm almost sure that they havn't done jack sh*t on a new checkrom version to S2.
Dharam_Maniar please dont think that we are all hiting on you, this is not your fault, this is the main DEV's fault, they filled us up with lies for this new release that they didvn't even might righten a code line at all, you are doing your best and i apreciate that.
about the briks, well, to be honest i don't think its the DEV's nor Samsung fault, as soon as i saw the V7 post i knew that i shouldn't flash a diferent kernel, and i'm a noob on these things, so, on thing is clear, or the guys that have the phones briked are more noobs than me, or else they are just stupid and tried they're luck flashing other kernel.
i'm looking forward to flash a new checkrom on my S2, but for sure wont be a first version, and this because i think that i'm not capable of handle such a fresh release, first version releases are meant to PRO's, so they can fetch bugs and stuff like that.
Dharam_Maniar please, be clear that we are mad at the main DEV's because of they're lies, and for donations to the S3 that already have a 2nd version of checkrom, lol.
Hey one thing here, I haven't worked on the ROM yet mate...it was their hard work only

...and people wonder why I was so adamant that we needed an answer from the Devs rather than just fan-boy talk from users... This is the reason.
I certainly didn't want to be causing fights in the thread but I felt it was critical to have this issue explained and clarified because it was inevitable that there would be bricks, followed closely by a huge mess, which we now have.
Credits to Dharam_Maniar above, for calmly and sensibly trying to fix the issue now but I think the horse has already bolted.

Its was clearely given that dont flash any kernel to the rom.
Its a leaked 4.0.4 firmware, no source no kernel.
Flashing the rom wont brick your phone (wipe/no wipe.)
Now tell me wats the problem.
Dharam was working on the kernel (but will take his own time for it)
And all the problems you are causing your self is planely due the ignorance on your part by not reading the changelog. Which probaly is not my/teams fault.
I guess its better to leave this thread shut till probably some of you get your manners firs.
