Thank you to the OP for a terrific tutorial. Don't listen to the naysayers who don't understand the value of DIY. Sometimes the application isn't readily apparent.
I recently needed to get a few dozen OTG cables of a specific length that had an OTG Micro-B connector at one end and a regular Micro-B connector on the other. Apparently, such a cable isn't sold anywhere (and we looked hard), or if it is, it is very well hidden from on-line searches. Fortunately, I was able to follow your instructions for modifying the Micro-B connector to create such an OTG cable and save the day with a client of mine.
