I have attached here the links to my prepared ROM build 018 which has GApps and comes with SuperSU but I recommend that you uninstall the SuperSU after rooting with VROOT. In the VROOT Superuser there is an option to "clean" (means uninstall system apps) system apps and then uninstall SuperSU. If you fai; to uninstall then do a second time of rooting process using VROOT. I have my SuperSU causing pps requiring root access not able to perform their full functionality.

After you have removed SuperSU you might lose your Root, like root browser not working correctly, so please reroot again using VROOT and then you will get perfect Root. then after this please go into /system/vendor/app folder and delete Chinese apps hiding inside there.
the build 018 has Gapps and after puttiing in the additional files including the OTA enabling app you will be able to update to build 020 (it might take a few tries but it will take about 1 hour to update the phone via OTA.

First unzipped the folder and install RootBrowser as normal browser other Root browsing app will require a working GApps.
NO, NO NO!! There is more to GApps installationthan just downloading Playstore and Gmail and Youtube.
I have the download links that I prepared for S020 version it is actually for China Unicom telephone. I have this comments and you should note this carefully. Do your phone boot into a ChinaUnicom bootanimation or the LENOVO bootanimation?
This you have to manually install one by one into the system/app folder. First create a subfolder in the system/app folder with a "dot" in front of the folder name (so that if it reboot while you are doing this operation the system will ignore the folder) I normally would name the folder ".temp" of course minus the "" symbol. Copy all the file maybe 4 at a time into this folder set the permission and ownership correctly, recheck and then move the files into the actual /app folder where you find all the other system app.
When copying "build.prop" rename the original build.prop to .oribuild.prop dont delete BEFORE copying my modified "build.prop" it has to be done fast becoz the phone has a quirk that it reboot in the middle of operating within system/app folder. the best is to copy the original build.prop into the .#temp folder and copy the modified build.prop (rename it to "build1.prop") and set the the permission and ownership correctly (this is very important or else ydo this operation your device will go into boot loop) I dont have a working ADB script to to do yet (as can be seen by the use of VROOT) no other Western method is successful in rooting A880.
Dont be a wise guy by tring to install SuperSU which (I have installed on ALl my other Android 7 in total except the A880)I have inscluded the updated VROOT version (be careful when copying the updated VROOT Superuser as the permission/ownership has to be correctly set I suggest you do this last and then reboot (or If you are afraid just install it as a normal app)
On the gps.conf file it is a must for all devices with GPS (the Chinese normally dont include this file in their ROM because their product are sold around the world and gps.conf is country specific.
Search "your country" NTP server and you will get what you have to edit within the gps.conf. file. I am not going to expand into this topic siince i had to explain in my forum at ARCH tablet Forum on Rk3188 (M9/M9Pro subforum- Gps already.

Again good luck I have done this if you are crrectly rooted by VROOT (all the file you tranfered into /system/app will appear with their correct icon like YOuTube the RED icon if you dont see this then you have to reroot it with VROOT again (quite easy)

For those intending to use S018 LENOVO A880 firmware

My experience in using A880 S018 firmware , it has already GApps installed and semi-rooted (coz it doesnt have busybox installed) therefore the Western style of Rooting using SuperSU which requires "busybox" and sqlite cannot work correctly on the system (I dont know why the Chinese especially LENOVO ROM modifiers never install busybox ). the formware tends to loose ROOt after installing certain root app.

OBSERVATION ON S018:
This ROM has a recovery similar to CWM can install zip and do data backup. To enable daydream download an app called DAYDREAM from Playstore and set your daydream to "while charging" "while docking" or ".both".
This firmware cannot upgrade the SuperSU like my original 013 have to use VROOT to reroot the phone and you can uninstall SuperSU because the Chinese when they root it using SuperSU never put in any busybox in the either /bin or /xbin folder therefore nothing is "symlink" to the system. Maybe after using VROOT to ReROOt the phone and can download again the SuperSU and then install "busybox" because as it is it has NO "busybox". Therefore the SuperSU doesnt work correctly cannot even update the "su" binaries but still have half root the applications that requires root can still work but not 100% performance - like you cant change the permission/ownership of /system/app or unisntall system app. Only after ReROOt with VROOT can the ROOT work correctly, then you can uninstall SuperSU and leave the VROOT Superuser.

The GApps are all there and working correctly, no worries. If you like this is close to 020 which doesnt have GApps.

I used S020 but having trouble with ROOT and need to install modify for GApps but cannot do so I reverted to S018 with GApps and put in the OTA update app inthe system/app and can get OTA but OTA succeeds to downlaod but fails to update the firmware (reported by many users who uses S018)

You cannot eliminate the other system app that is included to make your device compatible to Android Original System (you can however eliminate ApexLauncher, Quick Exit, NTPSync but not any others including Lenovosafe,SyncIt(these are updates), since these are LENOVO system files especially Superuser (VROOT blue color) SuperSU is normally yellow icon, this must be uninstall via the process I have laid out for you. NO OTHER FILES CAN BE LEFT OUT as GApps is not just YouTube,Gmail,Playstore it must include such as GoogleGSF, Google Login,BookmarkSync, (all the rest of the files MUST be included) or else when you boot up it will immediately FC and you cant even get on the Home Screen!! Dont try to be smart!I will not be held responsible if you have to reflash the whole phone again. I have done this many times and it doesnt BRICK your phone the worst case is that after bootup you will not be able to go into the start page IF YOU LEAVE OUT ANY apk files that I have asked you to install. If you take your own decison leaving out any of the included apk files, please dont come back here asking for help.
