Unfortunately I do not...I'm in the process of doing some serious PC cleaning and then I may just install a fresh win7 on my 2nd HDD. Updating did not help either it still just runs the setup screen and then crashes...

Sent from my Nexus 7 2013 using Tapatalk

Why does it sound like you have a Corrupt RUU or something if it's not even extracting properly.

It is possible to root this Rom?

How can I do it?

Please go Here and read. It really is easy to do. (hint, look at Post 3 as well as Search the Thread for "SuperSU"...

I have no idea this is my MD5 which has matched others: C6AC16FCDD39818F43158329EBDAD957
It doesnt even get to the to extraction process, all it loads is the very first screen and once the progress bar fills up it crashes with no error.

That matches mine. It sounds then like something Is messed up with your Installer in Windows. Maybe Malware or some other corruption.

Time for a good backup and wipe with a fresh reinstall ;)

Yup. This is what mine does on Windows 8.1. Extracts, then disappears. Flash tool never shows up. It just dies without a trace. Thus the reason I chose to go the PJ75IMG.zip method. There are quite a few things that don't work properly for me on Windows 8.1. Worst upgrade ever.

Wow, I installed HTC Sync, the software recognized my phone, I was convinced the RUU was going to work. Sure enough once again when trying to get into the bootloader, windows comes up with an error message saying failed to recognize your device.

I'm thinking about saying forget using the RUU and just flashing Captain's firmware and recovery package instead and then flashing Sense5.5.

Captain I apologize if i'm being repetitive, but what does the RUU do differently that your latest firmware (i'm assuming from the RUU) doesn't do when flashing?

Just flash SuperSU in recovery...boom rooted

Yeah its just weird that it wont run for me on win 7 but i threw in the towel and went ahead and flashed your zips. For those wondering you can flash the firmware/recovery in RUU mode whch will avoid any reason to put these files on your sd card, having to pull sd, and all that other BS here is my commands/output:

Edit: I wonder if Fastboot will ever change flushing to flashing...lol. At least it reminds you to WIPE! HAHAHAH

Thats what im doing...lol

It flashes everything. My firmware has pieces removed for convenience. But for a clean slate it's better to RUU. The zip method will still work.

Are you on win8.1??? Go download the USB.zip from this post. Unzip, go to proper folder in zip for 32 or 64 bit, then manually copy usbhub.sys and usbport.sys to C:\windows\system32\drivers then reboot.

This is the same link Captain posted yesterday regarding the USB issue on win8.1

Just out of curiosity what pieces are removed? And could those pieces be flushed via fastboot?
HBOOT & recovery are swapped out w/my modified versions and boot & splash are also removed. Once you break the signature on the zip, it's just not the same. I feel like that's part of what normalizes the device. But that's just me.

To those experiencing issues with the RUU not recognizing your device, flash stock ROM then connect USB with debugging enabled. Make sure HTC Sync is installed, running, and it detects the phone. If it does, then you're all good and the RUU should work just fine now. Thanks to Jamie for helping me out with this.

Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk

which stock rom did you use??? also, did you RUU with Win 8/8.1 or Win 7????

I feel you and agree 100% that's one reason I fought this ruu so much. I still might play a little more with it later...

So after going going back to viperRUU d/t some LTE issues (I wasnt getting 4G where i normally was) doing a hard reset and re-activation, i re-ran RUU and things feel like everything is back to normal and i'm starting w a clean slate. There has bee a lot here (Evo LTE forums) and been a learning experience, and i felt like i made things more complicated then they need to be at times. I was able to get a couple thing working that i liked in a couple of my previous roms like animated sync, animated gps and larger % battery mods after reading and learning how to decompile apks. Its been time consuming but fun for me, annoying to my wife. I appreciate all the work put in by Captain and friends. Just wanted to thank you

For those having RUU install issues....

For those of you having trouble getting the RUU to run correctly, follow the following steps to run in Bootloader instead.....I just followed Captain_Throwbacks instructions from this link:

http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=50487437&postcount=3

You must have a way to access your Micro SD Card from your PC so you can transfer and delete files from it.
Of course make sure all your data is BACKED UP!!!

1. Download both files to your PC....
2. Rename PJ75IMG1.zip to PJ75IMG.zip and place on root of SD Card.
3. Reboot phone to Bootloader Menu and run .zip file and let it do its thing....
4. After file is done, remove Micro-SD Card and delete PJ75IMG.zip and replace with PJ75IMG2.zip making sure to rename it to PJ75IMG.zip again.
5. Place Miro-SD Card back into phone and reboot while holding Volume Key down for Bootloader Menu.
6. Run .zip and let it finish (this part takes a bit of time to complete).
7. Reboot phone into a fresh install of Sense 5 Android 4.3 Final Update - 4.13.651.3

Enjoy.....

Good summary, this is exactly how I did it. After this you just have to flash TWRP and then you can go in and install whatever ROM you like (based on the new partition layout, of course).

Thanks for the help everyone. I bit the bullet and borrowed my sisters old and slow laptop that had Windows 7 on it. I can't say it went smoothly, but I flashed the RUU and it worked.

I'm going to flash the firmware and recovery now, wipe everything, then flash Sense5.5 and that should complete it right?

No need for firmware...just recovery now since you RUU'd and that has the firmware update in it. dont forget to flash superuser as well after rom....:good:

    Download link here
    *
    Thanks,
    Mo

    ----------------------

EDIT: The official link has been taken down. If you would still like to download the RUU anyway, I have uploaded it here and here.

NOTE: For those having issues updating via the RUU (drivers, Windows 8.1, etc), see this post for an alternative install method.

NOTE 2: There is an updated RUU (4.13.651.4) which was released to some testers from HTC. The update fixes the data roaming issue. It hasn't been released officially, but there is a download link for it here and a mirror here.

Can anyone using this RUU comment on if their bootloader is still unlocked after?

Still on hboot 1.12.2222 (I think) and can probably figure out flashing supersu through TWRP after I flash TWRP.

Captain, can you link your thread? I've only used your zips for flashing firmware bits, radios, etc.

    Thank you,
    Skid
My bootloader stayed unlocked the entire time. My thread is in OG Dev. If you flash the RUU, you'll only need a recovery.

Interesting, I don't think I've ever seen an official update that voided your warranty before.
