No it doesn't. Taking the battery out does ;)

That's called bump-charging, and while it does result in a higher battery charge, it also decreases your battery life-expectancy. Doing a bump charge repeatedly will cause the battery to wear out (lose the ability to hold a charge) faster than normal. It might be useful if you need to have the absolute maximum performance from your battery once in a while, but it is not recommended to do every time you charge your battery.

Here's a good read on the topic.

As I said before, the best way is to run the battery down and then charge it up again. Unless you have a bad battery, that should be enough to calibrate the battery meter.

I dont agree with that statement.I have been doing that for about a year with my first battery and I bought a new battery also from motorola and they hold charge just about the same almost identical. If what you said was true then by now since the phones release my battery wouldnt last at all,so i doubt you're correct or I have a super battery.
I get about ten hours on both batteries and this is with alot of apps running on the bacground, wifi turned on as well as constant internet browsing

Charge fully, turn off, remove battery, plug in, turn on, insert battery, let sit on charging screen for a minute, unplug, turn on.

Worked like a charm thanks.

Note* Had my phone turned off and charging for over 2 hours and it would not display more then 90% on the screen.

I pulled my battery, plugged in my phone, it automatically booted, showed a battery with a question mark in it, i placed my battery in, it showed 5%, I let it charge for approx 1 minute, unplugged, turned on, and.....

Success!

I know someone else recomended not doing this on a regular basis as it does reduce battery life. Other say it works fine. All I know is it worked.

But ill keep my eye on things and see how it goes. Im going to leave my phone off charge tonight and see what kind of life i can get with KitchenSink CNA base 1.3 kernel, antutu battery saver app, and post results.

Misleading battery indicator can also be due to power-profiles.xml not being correctly filled out for actual battery size of what is in the phone. :)

In the past I've tried this, but it doesn't work. The only way to get the proper percentage showing is to pull the battery.

Sent using an icy tap.

Is anyone having issues with Antutu benchmark mine gets to the 2d part and stops.
I just went through two fresh installs thinking it would correct it butI am guessing it has to do with 2d or 3d rendering???
Can anyone suggest a different benchmarking app that will work/give correct benchmarks??
thanks in advance

I finally found where everyone was at!! Did i miss the alpha??
I flashed the new version, forgot to save the log, but didnt have any errors anyway. cm9,all launchers,no tweak, Used the 1.0 kernel, could be faster maybe switch to 1.3
Did full wipe coming from miui.
No dialer app?? I press dialer says "app isnt installed" will look for it. Found under phone, maybe a apex thing?
Dont play games on much but tried baseball app working, tho it seems like a high priority on this thread so im sure thats been thoroughly tested!
Al mass storage doesnt seem to do anything for mounting both sds.
Battery seems to be going down quick on wifi.
Thank you for dual support on usb! multimount sucks.
googleplaymusic works awsome with headset controller buttons!! didnt work right on miui.
Google play worked first try no pay button error! got my free song of the day!
Set cpu says 1450 max but im only seeing it goto 1000.
Wasnt there supposed to be another music player, cant seem to find it, thought i installed it? I'll check on my next flash.
Hdmi shuts off when the screen shuts off, any way to leave it on if your listening to music or something?
These are just my first day observations, no issues really, the rom is excellent!!
You cant really call it a rom tho, dunno what to call it??
I'll try some more changes later after i figure all this out.
Glad i tried Kitchen sink! the name kinda scared me at first but it is the ultimate rom!

ps. What are some good settings for long battery life??

Nop because isn't the same chipset...

Enviado desde mi Atrix™ 4G CM7 Nightly

What about the app that controls HDMI output providing ICS RAZR with actual webtop experience? Would that be different from ours? I wish I could get my hands on a fruitcake made from that RAZR ROM just so I could see the contents of /system/app folder.....
Anybody knows how to create fruitcake from the flash file?

Best way...turn off wifi/gps when not in use and set your e-mail accounts to polling mode every 15 or 30 minutes....if you leave them as push, yeah you'll get notification of emails faster, but it'll eat up battery faster. Those settings usually net me pretty good battery life in MIUI

Kernel max is a glitch in the kernel...Joker knows about it. It won't exceed the proper clock speed (1.0 or 1.3 if you pick them).

Other music player (MIUI Music) only installs if you choose it when doing custom...I know it works on CM9, but if you did CNA, not sure if it will work.

Yeah...kinda is the ultimate rom...but believe me, with 3 of us working on it plus the base roms that go into it, it's a hell of a load to keep moving. Joker, Spleef, and I are working hard to get it right. Right now we're having a few delays in the latest release, but it IS coming soon. :)

Nice ROM

ok so I installed v1.3 heres what I tried with great success

CNA
custom install
full wipe (because I was coming from CM7.2)
1.0 kernel
north america gps
apex launcher
cm9 boot animation
bigger keyboard
file manager
google tts
CM9 music
gapps
wallpapers
no soft keys
default build.prop
no alternate 2d libs
no rotate fix
no search button remap
yes beats audio
yes bravia mod
apps all but Ics reloaded because not compatible with CNA and titanium backup because I have PRO version

Everything went Great except for the camera it FC's after 1 pic have to reboot to get it working again, except for 2 of my regular apps thumb keyboard and opera browser just not sure if they are compatible with ICS but they dont work with CNA or CM9, 1.0 Kernel is displaying 1.45Ghz but actually clocked at 1Ghz I think and know this is a known issue so no big deal.

What is beats audio and where do i find it?

no wiping before flashing kitchen sink
the files are need for the touchscreen to work

    What is project kitchen sink?

Its cm9, miui, cna, and aokp in one installer with all the options, tweaks, modifications, and changes you could ever want.

Best part is you get to choose what you want and don't want. You can even change options and try different setups anytime without multiple cwm zips.

    Status: bug testing 2.0
    What's in it so far?
    The entire kitchen sink

    What's gotta be done?
    Testing
    More stuff
    Aokp
    translations
    Polish
    More tweaks

    requests
    htc multtask
    modded google maps
    -AOKP on screen navigation buttons.
    -Tablet mod
    -MIUI lockscreen
    -Fingerprint Navigation.

    Downloads

    cool facts for fellow devs!
    • 900 line installer script
    • 900 line aroma script
    • close to 2000 , ; and other annoying syntax bits that could go wrong
    • 3 full aosp roms
    • total of 700mb shoved into 350mb
    • well over 150 test zips(stupid syntax errors)
    • by far the most bipolar project to date.

Also requests are nice especially during the building period

Joker and I got Kitchen working well in Photon. I finally got Aroma set up to the Atrix last night (took me 3 days). Time for me to get down to some work on the Atrix Kitchen. :) With any luck, we can get you guys a good, working 3 rom zip sometime today/tonight

Existing ICS ROMs are diarrhea. I don't understand why you would take on a project this huge if what already exists is broken. Just saying...

What is the point of this response? How does this add anything to the development of anything? Why do you care so much about what we are doing with our seemingly "wasted effort"?

Seriously, people....if you have something to assist us with this project, be it a question or comment that is helpful and relevant, we would love to hear it. If all you want to do is dis out work or make irrelevant and unnecessary comments, then save your time and keep it to yourself. I don't care if anyone doesn't like what we are choosing to do here with our work. We have CHOSEN to take on this project as a challenge to see if we can produce something that we thought would be cool. Nobody is requiring anyone to come to this thread.

    SO,

Lets get back to work, and all those of you who would like to make irrelevant comments like this guy and the guy he was quoting, please feel free to close your browser or check another thread. Have a great day! :)

Lots of changes coming, mainly isolating features that don't play well with certain options. However what's planned it

    Aokp
    Mystery rom
Better tweak options with lots and lots of tweaks
Better base options(keep options that don't work isolated)
Tablet mod hopefully for all bases
    Card style multitasking option
    More options
Fixes to prevent issues between bases
    Multi language support

Keep in mind this is a lot of work so not all of it will be done anytime soon.

Any news on these releases ? Will they even happen ?

    Patience...Patience

    Everyone:
Gonna really need your help when this next version drops Gonna need you to test different configurations out for us and let us know what happens. Seriously...this next release has the following:
    5 roms
    Extended Battery configuration for each
    7 boot animations
    2 extra File Managers
    Gapps with Face Unlock
    GPS Config
    2 Kernels
    4 Keyboards
    6 Launchers
    Forced/Non-forced Ril
    Alternate 2d libs
CDMA/GSM (as well as tweaked/non tweaked) props for EACH BUILD
    rotation fix
    tts options
    Wallpaper options
    flash
    genie widget
    gallery
    maps
    music options
    reloaded
    titanium
    voicesearch
    weather
    youtube
It will LITERALLY have HUNDREDS of possible configurations. There is NO way with the small group of devs we have on this project that we could EVER test all of this and have any time to add in new functions....or even keep our base roms (or this one) current. We'd be spending all day flashing.
I know it's fun to just set your nicely working phone and wait for our next drop, but if that's what everyone does, this will take FOREVER to get properly set up so that we do not have non-compatible options showing up on roms.
I know bootanimation loops suck, but they are ESSENTIAL for us to know what options you chose.

THANKS in advance for assisting us in this....and hope you enjoy the Kitchen!
