just with 3.71 untested with 3.72 i honestly don't really use that version much. ive got my own system setup for running through 4.4.2 roms down to 4.2.2 (aosp) mores available on my thread on up/downgrading to either nc2 or nc5 without upgrading bootloaders and even if u did still able to follow along and do what we do... and yes u must be at 4.3 u can be on modem/base nc2 or nc5 tho unless someones able to get it working differently?

Theme Chooser?

Any chance Theme Chooser works? I wifi tether a lot on unlimited data so I might have to wait.

I want to say yes theme chooser works. And take your time. I just got this far wanted help fixing them or seeing what could be done using the base or whatever from these roms and porting like other cm or aokp type stuff to safestrap or locked bootloader. Cm is all new to me at least I've never examined code or broke and fixed anything with this style. Much simpler than tw at first glance

I was also wondering if theme chooser works. Can you try it? In settings there should be a way to "Switch theme". If there isn't, then it doesn't have theme chooser. CM, AOKP, PACMan, and some other AOSP roms have it. Anything based off of CM *should* have it.

I looked and Slim doesn't have theme manager. Their stance is that "the theme manager sucks", so they are building their own setup for themes. IIllusionRom doesn't specify if they are *pure* AOSP (building from source and then adding their own stuff) or pulling from another rom (PA, CM, AOKP, etc). They do mention HALO from PA, so they may be building off of PA. I'm not sure if PA uses the TMobile theme interface or not. I'd be willing to help port CM or something of the sort, if you need help gigilie =]

I installed this and the only make problem that I didn't see listed is that my sd card won't Mount. I can pull a log cat if it will be of any help. I doubt it is within my abilities to fix myself though. I'm surprised there isn't more interest in this since it is the only way for ss users to run aosp

Well, it will be a bit before I can post the logcat. is it possible that the sd card not mounting is caused by the mount points in the bl?

Ok bored last like and was tweaking so I went on a flash-a-thon and found out you do not need to restore the backup if in safe strap. Just pick any 4.2.2 ROM and it will boot but I get the boot loops most of the time.

Im one of those rare T-Mobile users using the Verizon s4. On DAT SlimNote 4.2.2 with XDA Premium. Gotta show love

I have been trying to get a log cat for a while now. My phone shows up under adb devices but won't start a shell in order to be able to run the logcat. I get an error 13. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong here?

Yeah I noticed the external SD was not showing up. I thought maybe the plstform.xml or permissions.xml needed to be edited but that didn't work. Wasn't the external SD under a different name in 4.2.2?

Im one of those rare T-Mobile users usong the Verizon S4. On DAT SlimNote 4.2.2 with XDA Premium. Gotta show love

sorry ive been gone a while i see some developments starting tho keep it up guys i dont have many answers for you right now preoccupied with a lot. hoping some developers have a chance to toy with this otherwise keep trying to solve problems on your own google is your friend in this situation not in real life

I've about done all I can try to fix the sd card with no success. Wifi is beyond me.

If you are talking about the 4.4.2 rom porter than no aosp and cm are not supported yet.

    These ROMs contain Xposed and Gravity and Wanam Modules for Xposed these apps are not only nifty for theming or personalization and options but have been known to retrigger wifi into working if a softboot is done from them.
    both of the above ROM's should be installed on a clean slate IE Wipe FULLY 1st!
    Once wiped install via safestrap and reboot. These are still a bit buggy but hey at least I'm showing you that its possible both of these for sure have working data for VZW in 4g/lte form. If you can help or suggest or bug test and post or PM me any info on helping remove these final bugs we will have a fully working ROM in AOSP/GPE FORM FINALLY NOT JUST SILLY THEMES OVER TOUCHWIZ!!! The more donations I get reguarding specific ROMS is what I tend to spend my time developing so if this is something you'd like to see then you know what to do.

    AOSP ROMS WORKING FOR SAFESTRAP ANDROID v4.3- 4.2.2:
    Install through Safestrap by restoring these nandroid images. IE UNRAR this file into your TWRP backup folder AKA SafeStrap folder. This is a preview build. Give feedback if you want or just check it out to see it is possible. AOSP in Safestrap. worked for both MK2 and NC2 doesnt work for MJ7. Those of you updating and downgrading please us AP 4.3 for these ROMs. Users please take screenshots and post them in this thread for the OP :) Developers please help me fix the broken wifi.

    Installing via Restore for a n00b:
    1st enter safestrap and create a backup of your current setup. Next create a backup of your setup but only choose to back up your cache. If your able to name the backup before creating it and name it similar to the ROM you'd like to try do this all with an external sd card.
    2nd Pop that SDCARD into the computer that you downloaded the ROM too. Using explorer or similar browse to your twrp/backup/numbered folder/and the folder you did the cache backup to. This folder will contain cache.ext4.win and an .md5 for that file. Unrar all contents of the .rar file for the ROM you want to install into this folder overwrite the cache file.
    3rd Put the sdcard back in the phone and in safestrap enter Restore choose the folder name of the new ROM and press restore. This should be restored to a ROM slot if you don't know what your doing avoid stock restore.

    Only bug is broken Wifi all else should be fixed. Developer settings to enable unknown resources errors out and needs to be turned on via ADB the code for this would be something like:

    just because u aren't as adaptable or savy as most users for this specific development thread doesnt mean you should suddenly label yourself a developer.... lol for 1 do you have a clue what your talking about? no. can u follow directions, no. are you working on over 6 ROMS at the same time along with various other side dev projects like me? no. this is a thread meant for encouraging the development of the possibility of GE ROMS for our locked bootloader phones.... before I started this thread with early AOSP 4.22 ROMS for Safestrap it was thought to be impossible to even run these types of ROMs for our phone but you sir are the reason why I'm not jumping at the bit to fix these your ungrateful think u can suddenly do something that thousands o of us working together cant or havent done yet. its both hilarious and offensive I suggest you take your lame attitude back to the general section and with the other n00bs. or keep your comments to yourself please no one finds them helpful at least I dont.

    well this is what I came up with so far.... had everything working hopefully it works for others didn't get to test it well yet or even the file... sorry for the delay... Lost power at my house because the friends I was renting to decided to not pay last 2 months...so I'm staying at my girlfriends with just a laptop. Could use the any donations to restore power and continue development. If you like the ROM enough please consider. Thanks!
