I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (n900a).

I was able to attach external hard drives formated with ntfs filesystem to my previous phone the At&t Note 2 (SGH-i317) without difficulty. Using an OTG cable after installing Paragon ntfs & hps+. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paragon.mounter&hl=en

I have just recently upgraded to the n900a and I have discovered that while Paragon ntfs/hps+ driver can see ntfs drives, it cannot mount them. So I installed another application called Roehsoft's Partition toolkit https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roehsoft.ptk.sd&hl=en which also has the ability to see ntfs/hps filesystems.

Roehsoft's partition toolkit immediately sees the drive but when I attempt to mount it gives me the following error message.

ERROR; ntfs-3g-mount: mount failed: Permission denied

Is this caused by Knox or SELinux kernel enforcing?

I suspect it's the later because search results seem to point to Linux issues.

Can anyone help?

I've been there.

Im rooted on 900a and I guess I was not foing something right cause nothing I did works, I just re did my ntfs drive to fat32 and its works and it needs no external power, everything runs straight from the phone, my drive has a gang of movies on it so I did it to where it took like 8 hours but I changed it to fat32 left it on overnight.
