I wander where does the stby time difference betwen Desire and HD2 (on GSM) comes from? Is android so power unneficent (mind HD2 having smaller battery capacity), or is it something else ( maybe more tasks on pure android than on WM ). Its same CPU ,screen does not matter, so maybe cpu speed throttling? Does anyone have any clues?

i fell like android+HTC will make me upgrade phones every few months. i wonder if i a cell company will do 6 month contracts. lol
I would sign up to that too :D

It is a hard choice, I too love the design of the Legend that body is just pure "Geek" porn.
My choice however would more than likely be the Desire, the reason being with recent developments such as Flash 10.1 the reliance has tended to be for higher spec mobiles i.e. 1MHz processor along with future developments there "maybe" more reliant on the more powerful processor.
Tough Choice

Wow, that's a very drastic way of trying to find out which one suits you better! Hope you don't lose too much money when you sell the one you don't like!

I actually just also ordered them both from Clove as well. Legend is going to the wife. Desire for myself.

i have never been in such dilemma for my cellphone!! these two are very similar and very different. After reading the review from techradar i am even more confused as i see that performance wisely the legend doesn't have anything to lose against the other and it has some flash.

yup I was convinced I was getting a Legend, I've looked again today though and live wallpapers and the bigger screen have got me headed for a Desire now! Dont know if I could go back to a smaller screen after my Touch HD

Just got my Legend today. And I must say, i am quite impressed by its look&feel and flawless handling. At first I was a little anxious about this 'small' phone because I am comming from the TouchHD, but I already prefer it physically above my 'old iron' within the first few hours!

Pro
- alu case design, feels very solid.
- more 'pocket' compatible than my TouchHD
- smooth interface.
- sufficient screen size for everyday email and sms

Con
- no hardware phone controls
- no user manual, just a quick start guide
- on screen keyboard just to small for my fingers
- why isnt there a good today (calender) widget.... grrr

So I am quite suprised and quite happy with it! Hope I still will be after 'having met' the Desire... ;)

Ciao!

Argh! I'm so jealous!

Unfortunately, Clove won't ship until April 7th. (I also ordered the Desire and only paid for 1 shipment so that's why they won't ship the Legend to me on Mar 23rd. I hope the shipping date for the Desire gets pushed up!)

Btw, could you please test the wifi and bluetooth reception? A couple of reviews had issues with these. I'm wondering if it's something that was fixed for retail devices.

Well it is not correct to traders. But I will use Czech law and order Legend.
In 14 days I have right to send it back and get my money back. So Legend for 14 days and then Desire should be out.

Well, I have HTC Legend, and before that I tested and reviewed Google Nexus One, a.k.a Desire.

It is simple, both devices are very good, and I like Legend better, because it has aluminium casing, which is strong and quality of build is ok.

Everyone knows that 600 Mhz and 1Ghz it is not a big difference, maybe in Windows Mobile world, but Android 2.1, it is great.

So whatever you chose it will be a good phone :)

So wait...you're telling me that in Android it is a big difference or not? Do you think anyway that Legend will be future-proof or after few months will be unbareable slowly?
