How to get s-off to s-on?

Hi,

I've re-flashed the phone from the .exe file, and it worked fine. however, if I press the volume down+power buttons, it still says "s-off" on the boot screen.

Anyone know how to get s-on again?

Thanks!

Hey there.. Just thought I would let everyone know that I have a Telstra Australia Evo 3d and the touch screen died on my phone - and i relocked the bootloader to get repaired (So the bootloader displayed relocked) - and they replaced the touchscreen under waranty with no question....

Sorry bro...Line was bad and kept disconnecting. Btw.....new post up on how to goet S-OFF....in main page. Still trying
In the meantime. try this if you are on Win 7

1. Run the RUU_Shooter_U_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.22.707.2_Radio_10.55.9020.00_10.13.9020.29_M_release_207422_signed.exe

2. When u see this " I understand the caution indicated....." invoke Task Manager using CTRL-ALT-DEL keystroke

3. In the Task Manager window, goto Process tab

4. Look for a process name ARUWizard.exe*32.. Description: ROM Update Utility

5. Right click this process and select "Open File Location"

6. Look for the file ROM.ZIP and copy into another folder

7. Rename ROM.zip to PG86IMG.ZIP

6. And thats how you get the image. You can now shut down the HTC RUU program and Task Manager

Very complicated instructions on how to fix unroot and S-ON

This is quite simple and takes a few minutes!

1: Download RUU.exe (a tip of the country, EU, WWE, SD .........)
2: Install from PC
3: Restart the bootloader and the power button is switched to Fastboot
4: write through sdk command

fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
fastboot reboot-bootloader

The phone is in the factory settings with the S-ON

I have used a more simple way to relock it.

Go to bootloader and plug in the usb.

1. Go to CMD and type "cd c:\adb"

2. type "fastboot oem lock"

3. it shows ***RELOCKED***

---------- Post added at 02:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:41 AM ----------

I am sending my phone for the touch screen issue. Is there any way to get the phone back to ***LOCKED***.....

My phone is S-ON with ***RELOCKED***, do i still have the warranty?

I had a couple more questions though..
I had this in mind while browsing the xda forums..
Could it be possible if i revert back to stock rom..
And downgrade my version and then s-off it using revolutionary?
And im sorry im a newbie at flashing my 3vo..
And im asking this stupid question..
But what is the difference between S-ON and S-OFF ?
 im clueless ryte now whether to stay at s-on or switching to s-off..

I am assuming you need to downgrade your bootloader? If yes you do not need to revert back to stock first.
1. just follow the Hboot downgrade instructions
2. At the end of 1. you should have an S-Off Europe ROM
3. After that if you want to move back to your original ROM or which ever region ROM,
just fastboot oem writecid 11111111 and execute the RUU to flash your phone.

What is your ultimate goal for your phone? If its just to flash custom roms, you do not really need S-OFF. To me, so far, S-OFF gives me the ability to change my CID so that I can flash other region stock ROM as well as the RADIO portion.

Goldcard do not support EVO 3D because GoldCard only support SDcard with mmc2, but EVO 3D only mmc1 and mmc0---> Goldcard useless

    Dear all,

First of all, this is not my work. This is just a compilation of all the information i have obtained from various threads and the members of XDA. I claim no credit but just wanted to write this for all who wishes to get back to stock ROM (like myself) either for Backup purposes or Warranty cases. Using the HTC method to unlock the bootloader has given me hell such as Wifi error and stuffs. So here it is

Special thanks to Monx for showing me the idea on how to do this.

    1. Create a Goldcard (use a spare Micro SD in the phone after formatting with FAT 32) and follow the instructions below

    http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-make-gold-card-for-htc-desire-hd/
    * Instructions may be for Desire HD but it can be used too for our EVO
    * Only Procedure 3 is different as all u need to do is use the Goldcard helper
App to copy the Reverse CID to clipboard

    2. RELOCK your Bootloader (STEP 14) if its unlocked using HTC method below
    http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/unlock-instructions/page-4

    3. Download your original RUU ROM from here
    http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1208485

    4. Extract the ROM.ZIP file from the RUU ROM that you downloaded
One method of doing this is here
    http://lukasz.szmit.eu/2010/04/extracting-rom-files-from-htc-android.html

    5. Once you have copied out the ROM.zip file, rename it to PG86IMG.zip

    6. Copy this PG86IMG.ZIP file into the Root directory on your GOLDCARD

    7. Power down your phone and with the Goldcard still in

    8. Go into Bootloader (Hold POWER + Vol Down)

    9. Phone will auto detect the PG86IMG.ZIP, extract and then ask permission to flash. Select "YES" ....or course

    10. Once its done...you got your STOCK ROM back. However your bootloader will still show "RELOCKED"

Buy me a COKE :p or a mere THANKS :) if you find this useful

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think goldcarding is required for this.

    Maybe just a fastboot command?

    fastboot oem writecid 11111111

    only if u hv S-OFF

I moved from GB to ICS, by the HTC upgrade...
    now the situation is:
    *** LOCKED ***
    SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
    HBOOT-1.53.0007
    RADIO-11.25.3504.06_M
    OpenDSP-v02.6.0.2226.00.0202
    May 22 2012,01:06:07

Still missing root privilage and recovery. Very bed
any idea of what my I do to install again the recovery (4EXT would be great)
    Thanks again,
    Francesco
With hboot 1.49.0007 you could just use revolutionary for unlock and root (easy way).
With hboot 1.53.0007 revolutionary won't work.
AFAIK to get fastboot flash to work you should unlock your phone (HTCDEV method).
So maybe the upgrade was not so good idea.
To s-off and get back to 1.49.0007 I had to perform the controlbear/wire-trick from here
