I've done a lot with the stock already. I got the swift key, debloated, zipaligned, v6 supercharged etc etc.
I want to see if theres a difference.

Since its my first time flashing i was wondering
1) how do I get my
a) Contacts back

edit: seems like from what i've read, sync or import/export
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1480954

b) text messages
Edit2: Looks like I need an external app?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1646786
Edit3: yep....that's all i could find.....

c) settings back

I went from d2can to d2att btw.

2) how do i get all my apps back, this current tibu is not allowing me to install my tibu, and i do not want to click install on everyone single app.

I just want to get it back to how i had it set up with stock. but with the benefits of ariel?
Any ideas
TIA!!
If you are going from ICS, to ICS, you could go into your custom recovery, and restore only the data from your previous (ICS) backup....the one that had all the messages and setting and home screens just like you like them. In TWRP just untick everything except data in the restore menu and restore rofit: In CWM I think you have to go to advanced, restore...and find where you restore from backup and only restore the data. This works for JB to JB as well. Never cross restore data this way...(ICS to JB, or JB to ICS) as it will not work properly.
Happy trails.

I tried it for a bit and notice no real diff from my modded stock
Also I notice people flashing for gapps for roms that don't have it. I know this one has it. But why can tibu backup and restore. Gapps?

Gapps is usually flashed on 4.2.1 roms. Some will work on lower (4.1.2 and older) builds but some won't. I'll restore from titanium backup if I downgrade but some apps are optimized for the more recent operating system.

I've been holding my breath hoping for a release but nottach has moved on to the lg optimus g quad core phone. So its not likely that a update will be coming. On the bright side he left us with the most stable and usable build I have used on my s3 to date and I've tried all the big name builds out there all are very good but Ariel is the nicest I've used since I've rooted.

If your looking for a nice app to restore other app data and apps themselves I've been happy with ROM toolbox pro it costs money in the app store but is worth it to me. He has a free version give it a try in free u can't change your boot animation but it explains the app very well. I don't even use titanium backup anymore. When u clear data factory reset you will have to redownload ROM toolbox pro but after u do u can click app manager and restore all the apps u backed up before u flashed your new ROM. Hope this helps.
