I upgraded from my Atrix 2 to the Atrix HD.
I think its a great phone. One of the developers from Motorola said that AT&T wanted to make the phone cheaper. So they took out NFC, reduced memory from 16gb to 8 gb, and took out Webtop OS. They also reduced battery size.
Even with the cutback, I think the phone performs well and is a great step-up from the Atrix 2. Other devices in the same price range can't keep up with the Atrix HD.
AT&T: $99 2-Year Contract
BestBuy: $49 2-Year Contract
My line was up for an upgrade, Traded in my Atrix 2 for $150 and got the Atrix HD.
My choices other than the Atrix HD was an Iphone 4, Sony Xperia Ion, SGS2, and the HTC Vivid
I got the Atrix HD and saved the $100 gift card.

So I think it was worth it. IMO

LTE
Larger Screen
Better resolution
50% Processor upgrade per core
Better Cameras (front and back)
ICS already installed (I think this is an upgrade)
$49 at Best Buy (where I buy my phones)

All of these are nice upgrades from my original Atrix. The complaints are valid depending on one's situation. I've never had issues with my battery, nor have I needed to remove it so it doesn't bother me a bit as I'm always near a place to charge the phone. But I can see where this would bother some heavy users. FP scanner is awesome, but no other phone has one either, so the playing field is even. Also, the FP Scanner is just one more piece of hardware to break, which mine already has. I would have liked 2gb of RAM though, and would pay the money to get it.

Overall, I'd say it's a damn good value for the price point, and a solid phone for all but the most hardcore phone enthusiasts. Most benchmark tests I've seen show the Atrix HD to be right in the middle of the One X and the SGS III.

Once the Atrix HD gets rooted, I'm sure with just a few build.prop tweaks, the MAHD will beat the SGS3 in benchmarks.
After a day or two, running Juice Defender and the included SmartActions, I used my phone, played games, and watched a few shows. I checked my phone the next day after I forgot to charge it and I was happy to see that I still had 53% battery life left.

People see the size of the battery and automatically assume it's no good. The Atrix HD uses the Snapdragon S4 Krait, which is a 28nm chip that uses far less power than normal mobile CPU's. So even though the battery is around 1700mAh, it still performs around the level of a 2200mAh battery would.
The Camera complaints are from people who rely so much on automatic settings. If you want a good photo, then take the time to adjust your camera settings before taking the shot.
I dont mind the locked bootloader, eventually just like the Atrix 2, there will be roms, themes, and tweaks even with a locked bootloader.
I think the Atrix HD is excellent for what it is and for it's entry level price I'd say it beats out the One X or the SGS3

I also try to find products made in the USA since there are so many production jobs getting outsourced. This is another reason I try to go with Motorola. Although the Galaxy Note is one tempting piece of geekery.

LOL If you say so. When it comes to electronics, you cant be sure which country is producing it. I'm sure their are some resistors in the Atrix HD that are Chinese. Not to mention the involvement it takes to make the battery.

and yes, the Note is very tempting, but the size is impractical to me. I dont feel like having a semi-tablet in my pocket. lol

If you want a tablet you can make phone calls from go pick up a eLocity A7 from criagslist for $60 bucks. They have sim card slots, and it runs a Tegra 2 lmao (just playing The eLocity A7 is HORRIBLE)
