Try Gingerbread For moderate usage it worked more than a day for me
Use Cm7 2.3.5
I have FLASHED ics now though .
+ i had installed juice defender it saved alot of battery for me whn AFK.

Andida 1800 looks like a good bet specially because there is no need for changing back cover
