The ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity Thread

Okaaaaay... this was a little tricky but I think I made my best with screen tests !

All the pics are 2592x1728 resolution made from my Canon EOS 550D with a 15-85mm lens @ F/3.5 & ISO 100

Top = Samsung F2380m (calibrated) - C-PVA
Left = Motorola Razr - AMOLED
Center = Asus Infinity TF700 - IPS
Right = Motorola Xoom - IPS

I did all the tests with the android app "Display Tester" with 100% brightness in the App and Android Settings.
On the TF700 the option IPS+ "outdoor" is disabled because the screen is already very very bright enough and it does nothing on the colors, just add more brightness
I made snapshots directly from the TF700 to display the same image on my monitor

I have a dream... one day all the smartphones and tablet will come with calibrated screens... *sigh*
It think the colors of the TF700 are very warm but not yellowish like some of you feared, the xoom is very cold and the Razr... well... mostly "blue" (thanks AMOLED >_<" )

The dark levels of the TF700 IPS screen are very very good (no match for the amoled Razr but a lot better than the Xoom IPS)
But on the second image I did a longer exposure time and you can see the uniformity is not that great, there is a small cloud effect on the screens (this is not a reflection, I did all the photos with all lights off in the room)
-Bottom left of the TF700
-Top right on the Xoom
-Both tops on the Samsung (yeah... I know... sad...)
-Not at all on the Razr (yeaaaaaaaah AMOLED rocks in the dark )

On the second image you can see the benefit of the FullHD screen of the TF700 ! There is just so much more details than the Xoom screen

Here you can definitely see how much warm is the TF700 and how much cold was the Xoom (and how much green (?) is the Razr T_T )

So... after I did all this tests , YES the benefit of the FullHD screen is great ! The pixel density just make everything more sharp and pleasant to the eye.
Despite the fact the color temperature of the screen is a little bit to warm the colors are not that bad afterall !

Ok.... just tried to root my Infinity with the DebugFS method explained here http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1706588

And..... IT WORKED !! :good: I now have root on my TF700T

Titatinium Backup, Busy Box and Root Check confirm that I have root access

Hum... no , for me the sound comes only from the right of the tablet (and on the left there is no speaker holes)
