I would also recommend to do a titanium backup and try that out. The advantage is that you don't need to revert back to the older Rom

Hmm, right, can you provide just an apk? Would be great. So I am able to install it over the old app.

You can flash the entire thing, and it will replace the old files. Or if you really just want the apk, just unzip the flashable file, and pull the apk for yourself, not too difficult.

Riego,

I really want this latest Quick Remote app on my Optimus G Pro. Can I go ahead and try it??

Just in case if this fails, I don't want to lose out on the older version of quick remote that is already there.
So a nandroid backup before flashing and restoring it if it fails would help me revert back to original right??

nandroid backup is always a good idea. make sure to uninstall QuickRemote and QuicksetSDK before you flash it, as i don't know the apps on the Optimus G Pro. let me know if it works. if it doesn't work i may send you a edited file to try out.

Hi, i have a d802 with cm11 kitkat. If i try to add a new remote the vendor list opens but If i then click on a vendor He cannot find devices!

I tried the old version, but the same Problem.

Use the old version (v6 or v6-1), and then add these to the build.prop which is located in /system:
ro.build.target_operator=?
ro.build.target_country=?
You will have to find the carrier (operator) and country codes for wherever you are, or I can try to find it for you if tell me what carrier and country you are in.
EDIT: Based off of your signature I'm guessing you're in germany, so the country code will be EU, so use:
ro.build.target_country=EU
I still need the carrier though.

I added the two rows to the build.prop, rebooted to recovery and flashed QRemoteG2_slim3_unsigned.zip.

Problem still exists :(

Happy to help! Glad to know it's working for future reference, because I'm also on CM 11 now.

Ok the two things to then are:
ro.build.target_operator=TMO
ro.build.target_country=EU
Try that out and let me know if it works.

i think best results would be with

ro.build.target_operator=OPEN (i don't think T-Mobile has special remotes...)
ro.build.target_country=DE
ro.build.target_region=EU

but that's what my boot script should do on it's own.
-operator get's detected if rom shows the device information, which cm does
-country get's detected by system language
-region isn't really needed and i didn't find a proper way to read it

so if he had problems with cm11 i really wonder why...

Just want to tell everyone that this is dalvik-only. Works great on cm11 and survives nightly update

    hello,
    so this is my port of the QuickRemote flashable on all non-LG custom Roms.
    it's been up on sefnaps thread for a while but i decided to make a new one to avoid confusion.
    Thanks to:
    @sefnap for the initial port
    @FiendFyre for helping to bring the missing remotes back

    Screenshot_2014-01-03-16-27-37.jpg Screenshot_2014-01-03-16-28-43.png

    PROJECT IS DEAD! (BUT STILL WORKS)

    info:

    -extracted from leaked kitkat build
    -reduced size by removing unneeded help videos and optimizing pngs
    -fixed all graphical issues because of porting
    -works with all ROMs that have init.d support (or use universal init.d)
    -widgets not working (yet)

    installation:
    -just flash the zip with your recovery
    -it tries to detect the device, but if you still miss remotes you can flash AT&T or Verizon zips after the QRemote
    -reflash after ROM not necessary on most roms
    -if you have problems just let me know (with logcat in case of a crash)
    -to clear things up: you don't need to change build.prop unless you have problems.
    -your old remotes might get lost if you come from another QuickRemote apk
    -does not work with ART

    Changelog:

    V8:
    -disabled widgets and non functional settings
    -lowered min SDK to 16 (for testing)
    -simplified internal EULA skip

    V7:
    -fixed missing remotes by setting additional props
    -added optional operator overriding
    -fixed AT&T U-verse remote not working (bug introduced by LG)

    V6:
    -PNG optimization

    V1-5:
    -stuff i don't remember

    Download:
    QRemoteG2_v8.zip

    Uninstall:
    QRemote_uninstall.zip (flash in recovery)
    Force Carrier Coding: (only flash if necessary!)
    AT&T
    Verizon

    I was hoping to get V8 so the widget it removed as it doesn't work anyway, I don't like having stuff installed with features that doesn't work. Doesn't work with ART but hopefully that can be fixed now when the english 4.4 roms are rolling out.

    Other than those two it works great for me.

    i'm with you. i just had a really busy real life lately.
    so i will release v8 as it is in the changelog today or tomorrow.
    that is definitely going to be the last one as i'm on nexus 5 now :D
    i'm not able to test v8, but i can still work on it if something goes wrong.
    about ART: this is already a port from a kitkat rom. so don't expect something working with ART soon... the problem is without modification the apps work just fine, but as soon as you change smali code and recompile it just won't run with ART. it's probably because of some tool in the chain not built for ART, but i don't know.

    so this is untested v8: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5oN6i68oB0RWFNwb0NaRFZ2M0E/edit?usp=sharing
    can someone test it and report back if everything works? (flash at your own risk!)

    This isn't intended to work for 5.0+ devices (though there is a zip available somewhere) -- I'll link it if I can find it.

    What about those who have the script running from a previous version? Do we need to delete it first? I would appreciate an update instruction. Thanks for supporting.

    Sent from my Note 3

    update should work with no problems as it removes all files that could have been left by an old installation (except data).
    i update the instructions
