Up one step on OC from 691 to 710 and no panic yet. Conservative gov seems fine for now. I`ll try moving apps to sd.

So as with the new build we should delete

-remount scirpts
-v6supercharger and minfreehandler scripts
-Juwe11's Ram optimsation script and kickasskernilizer
- and also andy's tweaks in his phoenix rom?

Since you have the values written in the kernel...am I right?

Yes as he already said minfree values is applied on sources...

Moved apps to sd using cachesd command in terminal emulator and everything went ok. Then moved all remaining bits and pieces from apps, one by one, entirely to sd card using Apps2sd app and got bootloops. For some of those i had shortcuts created. So maybe that was the cause.

Primary report on the best testing build installed on the ****test phone

- Other changes to improve stability of the system - random reboots should be fixed

http://www.multiupload.com/NIEQJI9U74

I'm not answering stupid questions, this is a testing build, test it and report back with useful feedback.

after 4 hours of insane testing heres the result i got!

Sorry that i am temporary not taking part in testing the conservative governor
because I am recently trying my best to reproduce the random reboots/shutdowns!
as SmartassV2 was the governor to produce most random shutdowns before... I used it to test the hell out.

the panic screens were beautifully perfect and they responded to my button presses :)

a reference is that 729 was my phone's stable maximum on your .32 kernel.

787 SmartassV2
immediate panic
symptom: buttons blink, panic screen

768 SmartassV2
20sec max usage
symptom: buttons blink, panic screen

748 SmartassV2
5mins max usage
symptom: buttons blink, panic screen

729 SmartassV2
1h 32m constant usage
symptom: random reboot

729 SmartassV2
20mins constant SetCPU stress test
symptom: random reboot

i know its abit disappointing but im sorry franco my ****ting phone random rebooted at 729!

However after updating the kernel it feels alot more stable AND FASTER for me!!

Of course I know what I should do next is downclock abit :p:p but as the topic said this is just to report as soon as possible :D

Currently my phone is under stress test and more and much much more results will be coming soon! ;)

I will keep update this note as my phone goes under testing, please check it!

will reply thread again if I find anything special before tomorrows update on my results!

Thanks franco, thanks for the best testing build I have ever tried!!!

I can deadly confirm this and have used 2 whole weeks in August/Sep to test:

whether in mik 6.5.7 + franco 19.4 (.32)
or
mik 6.6.1 + franco v1.1 (.35)
(ive only tested on the above so may also happen in other ROMs)

Optimus One + Darktremor 2.7.5.2-1 Move apps to EXT + Move apps to FAT
= bootloop of bootanimation

so its ok, just let them stay in "phone" while no need to move "all" of them to FAT
doesnt quite related to kernel / not a big problem though ;)

Just flashed it, ran a stress test in setCPU (480/768 minmax). There were no problems while it ran, but the phone crashed when trying to reply to an SMS shortly after ending the test (probably a kernel panic, quick reboot). Now I replied to that SMS succesfully and left the phone on the same CPU settings to see how much it will handle it. No problems with a2sd btw, I have all my downloaded apps in the Internal/a2sd memory. Will test Conservative later.

EDIT 5 minutes later: Woke the phone up, noticed the wallpaper wasn't running anymore. Same SharedBufferStack line in logcat, and the phone quick rebooted shortly after.

EDIT 6 minutes after the first edit: The phone once again quick rebooted without actually being used. It seems 768 is too much for my particular CPU.

LATER EDIT: Went back to 480/748 minmax, ran a stress test for 5 minutes with no errors, but the damn status bar crashed and now it shows the wrong WiFi signal level and no alarm icon. xD

EVEN LATER EDIT: Everything went fine until I opened NFS Shift. Phone froze and quick rebooted at the "If you want to race..." screen. =(

Good job again Franco

I just installed the 11.11.11 kernel.

It has worked without a problem is Andy's Phoenix ROM. Running at 729/480 conservative for the last half hour and the phone works normally. Data, Camera, Calls all work. The governor seems a little slow compared to SmartassV2 but is not really noticeable.

If it gives better battery then it's a bonus ;)

I was even able to play the game GunsNGlory WW2 without any hiccup. And not faced any random reboots or errors with dt a2sd.

Great job again Franco. Go go go :D

Edit: Not sure if deadline scheduler is default. Nofrills CPU did not detect it as default. Had to manually set it.

710 SmartassV2
stress tested constantly for one full hour 3611143ms without errors!!!

will not reboot and continue to try my very best to reproduce panic/random reboot in this OC settings!!
(i know i will fail to make it! xD)

thanks franco~! this is confirmed alot lot lot lot lot lot more stable than 021011!! :):):)

EDIT:
@socialdistortion
just installed nofrills to check for you---
yes! deadline is the default :)

480/729 minmax could run NFS Shift without any problems. I guess this is just about the max for my device at least. n.n

No. Don't change those values or it will ruin my setup. I'll explain everything when this **** is released as final.

About people having hangs when playing games, lower your overclock, it will fix it.

So far the feedback is very good, keep it coming.

Yap, only i dont get bootloop on boot animation. The phone starts, then tries to load apps, then reboots, and so on. So i get to unlock it and then restarts on its own. But this should not be a problem as at some point it gets stable.

Once stable, no reboots watsoever. Kernel panic only once after moving entirely all apps to sd. And i must say i have a lot of apps and games on my phone (over 150). Very stable on conservative gov after a few hours. Just calibrated the battery. Games are OK, performance better than 02.10. kernel as i get OC one step up, so about 63 FPS in Neocore sound off.

Man if the damn blackscreen bug should be fixed...
Much appreciation to you Franco.

i didnt want to complain about lags when i test with coin dozer as i thought it is natural for our phones but wow... omg downclocking to 600 WORKS...!

lol this is too fantastic and may i please know why?
the thought of "OC=smoothier gameplay" has been in my mind for a year....

EDIT:
@voyager
yea exactly!!! the same symptom as yours!!
take a look at my sad thread before.. haha!

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1239063

and i finally figured out moving most apps back to "phone" solved the problem!! lol how pathetic i used 2 weeks to **** myself trying to find out the solution

I didnt really see a need for overclocking nowadays, 748mhz and 600mhz have a little difference in terms of performance

i experience the difference when im simultaneously listening to music + another task (typing/gaming)!
but not much when im not listening :p

however how that can be fantastic that 600 plays smoothier game than 710?! :eek:
maybe franco can answer me about this...

Well, i can't even change it through an app :p

Yes don't bother trying I've locked it tight within the kernel source, I don't want it to be changed from my setup since it's already optimized enough.

Having higher OC doesn't mean you'll get smoother gameplay if your phone doesn't handle OC very well. This kernel already has FSB/BUS overclock, that alone is enough to provide smoother usage with 480/600 than the stock kernel.

Got it. In fact just had panic and this time its clear from OC. I wait to see if it happens again and then back one step. Batt consumption seems too big, but i'll wait for a full cycle and then see how it is. Still on conservative gov.

i've been testing the kernel since this afternoon, no panics or random reboots... just one thing: data transfering from phone to pc is extremely slow (600KB/s) with class4 sdcard... not a bug i guess, but i'm reporting my experience...

    About
    underline.png

    Following the popular franco.Kernel series I present you the new .35 tree based kernel for the 2.3.3 from LG and for the CM testing releases from mik.

    (Because people keep flashing this **** with the wrong roms and come here crying "HALP" enjoy the big letter warning)
    This kernel is not for 2.2 roms and I will laugh at you if you flash it together with 2.2. Not either will it work on miks 6.5.8 nor void forever...

    franco.Kernel facebook group page: https://www.facebook.com/franco.Kernel

    Features & Changelog
    underline.png

    #4
    * Added 652, 672, 691, 710 cpu frequencies
    * Doubled busses frequencies - system will go faster but you'll possible lose some overclocking capabilities. Busses frequency OC > cpu OC.
    * Added and tweaked Simple IO scheduler as it proved to be the fastest one for this device
    * Added tun.ko and cifs.ko
    * Added camera flicker bug fix
    * Cleaned up some more debug ****
    * One or two small tweaks

    #3
    * Completely rebased kernel
    * No more blackscreen
    * Based on CM's source
    * All the tweaks and ****s you've been known about from me
    * Franco magic?
    * POWER
    * BATTERY
    * Well...I'll write a more detailed post later, too busy at the moment =)

    This is a complete re-written kernel from scratch featuring all the performance and battery patches from the last version plus a lot of new code.
    The changes are all in my github so I don't need to list them here. I need you guys to test the kernel and tell me what is working and what is not working, which bugs do you find, if the performance is good, if battery is good etc etc. I don't want posts like "BLUETOOH HANDS FREE DOESN'T WORK FIX PLX" or "WAHT IS THE BAST GOVERNOR AND OC HALP PLOX" I want informative posts about your conclusions, if it kernel paniced what is your environment, your OC, your governor... stupid and non helpful posts will be ignored. If you want a good kernel, do you job as an user and help me too.

    alert.png
    Take note of this, I don't care nor will pay attention if you say you're having battery drain if: you flashed the kernel sooner than 24hours of your complain post, if you didn't wipe your cache partition before or after flashing it, or if you didn't wipe your battery stats. If any of these three conditions are met at the time of your posting I will simply ignore it.

    Ok, I decided to give another whirl to this kernel and seeing the amount of users still using this device I own you guys something. I will also drop a app for a symbolic price of 1,46€ that will feature kernel settings and kernel updater - which you will be able to buy via Google Market to support me.

    This is simple: I forgot tun.ko so its coming on #4. More intermediate frequencies coming on #4. Having night drain? Im sorry its your rom/app/whatever my device slept for 13h straight and lost 4%. Reboots? Dont overclock that much. Device is singing kumbaya in the rain? Your're drunk.
