I grabbed this phone last week and within 24 hours had found this thread. I've got some weird quasi-root situation going on though, where I do indeed have root access but after a prolonged period of time it will suddenly be revoked. I can reboot to regain root but any changes I made to the factory image are reverted, e.g., all the bloatware apps I've removed show back up & download their updates again. I've even tried re-side-loading the SU.zip and re-rooting from recovery, but there's no change. What in the world is going on?

Yes I did bricked after running jcases commands and thinking I could get the new token I'd for HTC_ dev. My bad but got a new one today. Whatever you do don't start the process and stop and think its ok to miss a line of code just follow his instructions and you will be able to unlock it.

Success after full data reset of phone and did commands over it worked like a charm if any error codes come up during the commands reboot and do wipe and start fresh after all commands works then goto dev site and do exactly what they say and the token works you will get the unlock by email use that and your good.

I rooted using jcase method. Your tool saved me last night after a bad Rom flash. Got recovery back on phone after wiping. Thanks!. How about some additional adb commands. Sideload etc.
Absence of sd card can present some additional challenges.

Thanks again.

wrong answer sir. This tool UNLOCKS THE BOOTLOADER... the correct answer would be yes. Is it understood that this is what the whole fuss has been about, that everyone has been rushing to do is UNLOCK THE LOCKED BOOTLOADER. Does this tool provide S-OFF?? The answer would THEN be no. comprendame?

From my understanding. I am very new to root on locked HTC You do have root, but you do not have S-OFF which is required to perma write to the /boot and /system partitions while booted into the android OS. Try debloating from ADB. This should make the permanent changes you are looking for. I may be wrong, but this is what i have surmised via reading. There is a very interesting thread in the rezound section concerning S-OFF. You may want to check it out.

This tool does not unlock the bootloader. You have to do jcase's method then do htcdev. And after all of that you'll still be s on.

I tried rooting numerous times earlier. I was getting the well known error codes when doing this on a Verizon unit. Did this tool update address that?

So after you unlock the bootloader (not included in this tool) you MUST follow the steps stated in the left upper corner? It's also a requirement to register your phone? I usually use Moto phones so this is my first HTC phone.

I would like to add for those that like my toolkit, PLEASE DO NOT POST IT ELSEWHERE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!

I have seen multiple sites who copy and paste my work to their site! If I do not approve of it, then do not do it! it will discourage me from adding updates since it is being used for their own benefits!

    tl;dr.

If you post my work without permission, don't expect updates!

I created an easy to use GUI program for the HTC Amaze and I decided to make one for the HTC Droid DNA. I spent a good over 10+ hours to learn how to script, watch videos on how to do it, working on it during school when I should have been listening lol and all that fun stuff. I am going to fix it and up and add more updates to it. You CAN place requests and I will try to fulfill it!

If this helped you out, Please press the thanks button and if you want, you can always donate!

We're sorry, but it appears your attempt to unlock the bootloader on this device has failed. This could be caused by several factors including simple errors in the entry of the unlock token, problems with your device, or a lack of manufacturer support for the unlocking process. Please see the specific error code listed below, and try again if necessary.
    Error Code: 160.
    Error Reason: MID Not Allowed.

MID = Model ID = Your phone.

Verizon locked out your bootloader >.<

This thread, as well as a few others claiming to be "All-In-One Toolkits" etc. should be moderated. Unfortunately this is a guide for early model phones with S-Off and those able to have unlocked with HTCDev.

As much as everybody else here, I'd love to see a real root for the actual "consumer" phone for Verizon. Fair?
Now I take offense to that and your facts aren't correct. S-off users don't need this.

If you'd "love" to see real root, why don't you figure it out yourself? We do what we can to help. Hell, I don't even own the phone and I still try to help. Have you contributed? You have 4 thanks. I have over 2,800. I think we all know who contributed here more.

    Bugs
    - Directory has to have one word.
    Ex:

Will Work. This will solve any issues if the buttons don't work when you press them.

    C:\Users\John\Dropbox\Phones\Amaze_All-In-One_Kit_V2.4

    C:\Users\John_Smith\Dropbox\Phones\Amaze_All-In-One_Kit_V2.4

Will NOT work. Your directory will look something like this and buttons won't work when you press it.

    C:\Users\John Smith\Dropbox\Phones\Amaze_All-In-One_Kit_V2.4

If you have 2 words, put the folder in Drive C:

Ex. This will solve any issues if the buttons don't work when you press them.

    C:\Amaze_All-In-One_Kit_V2.4

Looking to add in the future
    - Kernels
    - More recoveries
    - Makes Requests!!!

    FAQs

Q - Why Did you make this?
A - To make life easier

Q - You are limited on features. Why?
A- You can always make a request!

Q - Will this work on other devices?
A - Only the fastboot commands, HTC Dev unlock (device specific) and the HTC drivers. Toolkit is made for the specific device.

Q - Will you support more devices in the future?
A - If people REALLY want, I can make it happen. I just don't want to make anything that nobody would use.

    Q - Awesome! Can I make a donation?
A - Of course! Do not feel obligated though. If you would like to make a donation, you can click the button on my toolkit or under my username.
