[Q] Not charging but works when plugged in
So here's my issue. I'm sure this is on here somewhere but I can't find it. I've seen threads somewhat like my issue but not quite the same. My Prime will only work when it's plugged in. When it's plugged in I have the battery icon showing an exclamation point with 0 percent charge. It does not show it is charging. When checking in status of the battery it says 0 percent. STATUS UNKNOWN. I've tried restarting multiple times. I can't so a cold restart with the power and volume buttons, presumably due to the dead battery. The restart button does not fix it. I've tried multiple chargers. I'm out of ideas.
My warranty was up a couple months ago. I contacted ASUS who stated I would have to pay 88 dollars if it needed a battery replacement, not counting the shipping. I tried telling them I had to return two transformers for charging problems, not primes. My wife's ASUS laptop also has a dead battery. I told them I was going to build a new PC with ASUS parts (wanted the Maximize VI board and 780 video card) but told them there was no way with this kind of service and record. They blew me off and said I'd still have to pay.
So no more ASUS for me, which sucks. What I need to know is this: is there a fix for this Prime? I'd hope its a software issue. I love my Prime and would rather not use it as a paperweight. Anybody got anything?
