I'm getting a positive for the bug on the stock HC 6210 LA3 firmware.

Yes, but remember: this is a low-level flash firmware we're talking about, it doesn't matter whether it's HoneyComb or not. What this tells you is whether your flash hardware is running a ****ty firmware, not whether your ROM/kernel will actually brick it or not.

Now that we know some of our devices have faulty flash hardware, we should be careful. Like I said, CM9's Samsung kernel is safe as of a few days ago. We have no reason to believe that HoneyComb kernels can accidentally brick devices with ****ty firmwares.

I have unknown on UELA3.

You're probably ok.

Looks good! The stuff thats missing... Like wifi, is it possible for you to make them work? I mean is it just a matter of time or cant you do them?

Hello Aorth,
I have asked the question regarding to this issue a month ago. I'm glad that it is fixed now.

Well, our flash storage firmware (in the hardware) is vulnerable, but our software isn't.

The problem with the Galaxy Note was that their flash storage uses a buggy firmware, and the kernel used in the official ICS ROMs triggers the "hard brick" accidentally. Gingerbread kernels on the same hardware didn't have this behavior. It means we still need to be careful, for example when Samsung releases ICS for Tab 7+, as it might contain a kernel which triggers the hard brick under certain circumstances.

Yup. Don't touch leaks for your device - wait for source you can review for safety.

How bad are the wifi issues?

Really bad. It used to work, now it doesn't. I don't know why. And I haven't spent much time on it. :)

Is any update from aorth

Yes: I'm going to the bank, and then to the grocery store. That is the only update I have.

Oh, you want an update about the ROM? I might post a new build for P6200 since CM9's had a lot of changes anyways... Oh, and locerra cracked his screen last week, and he was the only one with a clue about the wifi. P6210 is out of luck, as wifi is completely broken.

Cid boot animation

The new Cid bootanimation has been merged into CM9... but it looks a bit off... aahha.

nSwiGl.jpg

@chris, maybe now that the new boot animation is out you can fix it and upload to gerrit? Or, if you fix it I'll upload it. :)

Edit: Fixed...

MHAs1.jpg

Still looks like crap, but at least it's the right orientation. Chrisrotolo should still fix the aspect ratio ;)

Bluetooth is go!

It was super ghetto... but:

AfxMxl.png

Basically, we use a CSR bluetooth chip, not Broadcom like all the other Exynos 4210 variants. Get ready for ghetto-ness:

Code:
adb shell
su
echo 1 > /sys/class/rfkill/rfkill0/state
bccmd -t bcsp -d /dev/ttySAC0 psload -r /etc/PSConfig_8811.psr
/system/bin/hciattach -n -p /dev/ttySAC0 bcsp 3000000 flow

Yah. Now I need to make it prettier.

i can definetly fix the bootanimation soon as i get a few minutes. Is the Bluetooth calling for bluetooth headsets, etc? or did you fix bluetooth alltogether??

thanks.

Well, I've only tried scanning and file transfer. I have no reason to think calling won't work, but I can't try it because I don't have a bluetooth headset.

Lemme know if you get around to hacking the boot animation. :)

downloading now... couldnt find a larger size anywhere. had to download the entire CM_common branch. My internet is fairly slow.
should be done tonight.

how would you like it displayed? horizontal/normal?

the horizontal-1024x600.zip in the cm9 branch works beautifully.

there it is. should be the same one in your pic. the images are actually 1024 x 600. I think it looks fine, except that Cid dude looks like the evil soul/spirit of a cat.

i made a 640 x 1024 (to preserve aspect ratio) give it a shot. edit: damn thing is always saying a security token is missing after upload. I'll have to try dropbox.

my tab is hard bricked from trying the Logo Me App. #myfault.

Hear ye, hear ye! I've started porting CyanogenMod 9 to the Galaxy Tab Plus. While it's up and running (and actually quite usable), this is really only a developer preview. Please understand that this is a very rough initial port, and lots of stuff doesn't work.

    Warning! Do not flash!

Do not flash this unless you know how to backup your data and especially unless you know how to get back to stock. If you don't already know how to do this, you might want to familiarize yourself with the process now, while the other developers and me get CM9 to a more "daily driver" state. I don't have time to help n00bs unbrick their devices. No offense!

    Known issues
Please don't complain about them unless you're willing to fix them. :)
    • USB mounting of internal storage (will never work). Removable sdcard can work, but is disabled for now. Note: USB mounting is different than MTP, which works fine already.
    • HDMI out
    • Hardware acceleration for DivX/MP3
    • IR Blaster
    • WiFi is a bit iffy, sometimes you need to toggle it off and on
    • GPS doesn't get as many satellites as in stock

    Flash
Flash from ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.1.x (probably works with 5.0.2.x, but I use 6.0.1.x so your mileage may vary). Make sure to wipe data/factory reset. No whining if it eats your homework.

    I'm baaaack.

I'm back from vacation, and I've synced up with locerra's latest changes to the tab device trees. He's been very productive over the last two weeks, and I have new builds for P6200, P6210, and T869 on their way to the server as we speak...

You'll have new builds verrrrrry soon.

    Developer preview 3.2

Here's DP 3.2. Nothing major, just a minor update with the rear-facing camera working again. Note: it's still not working 100%, merely back to how it was before it regressed in DP 3.1 (locerra made some libcamera changes). :)

    DP3 for P6210

I've decided to take up managing the P6210 releases for now, since kmmxracer has decided to leave us. :)

Here's some DP3 love for the wifi guys:
