I was concerned about the update Also. I was on .510 & hadn't experienced any problems. I went ahead and updated to .532, I still haven't experienced any screen issues I've hatve adaptive light on & off on both firmware editions. As for backlight I was initially scared to uncheck it. I figured what the Hell since I was gonna upgrade, I wanted to see if I'd notice any difference... ).510) not at all, it seems to brighten things just a bit on .532 but definitely not efficient so I just left it checked! Ambient light sensor is still inactive with the update.
I did notice that the screen appears whiter/brighter... More vibrant, I noticed this on the all white "settings" page / Google web page immediately after the update & reboot... also there seems to be a small battery tweak of some sort because I've been using it since 7pm heavy streaming a bit of 4th qtr mon. Night Giants win, non-stop music, Sirius + Google music half cloud half sd card, & I read a few articles, typing now at 35% with. 4.1/2 hours on-screen time...
No way would I have gotten that before. I had the charger ready to go! I'd say go for it if you haven't experienced any problems this far! Also... I haven't rooted yet.
