Could any of you take a look at this .raw, please? Click!

None of the bayer formats works on my g2 running AOSP/CM ROMs, but when I chose YUV422SP, I got this 24.9mb file (bayer raw files were 15.6mb, dngs 25.1mb - so I have no idea what it is). I couldn't open it with anything and RawTherapee crashes on start. If It was possible to get a picture out of this raw (?!) file, that would be awesome, so I'd really appreciate if you'd try to decode it.

Rawcapture is not working on cm12 and aosp roms! And what you have is a yuv image. Use irvanview or 7yuv.

I know raw doesn't work, that's why I was happy to see that it actually took a picture using YUV - at least I thought so! I can't seem to open it with anything though, tried both irfanview and 7yuv.
Maybe it's time for me to give up on getting this thing to work...

When i tryed it with the g3 yuvs it was working with both programs. You have to set correct yuv format.
Well i can compress it to jpeg with freedcam. But i think thats not what you want. Also no idea how big it will be. I just activated it because its there.
A different posebility would be to go back to stock or to the g3 ports.

i cannot open the app on my xperia z2. the resolution shows is 13MP (before force close), which is not supported by my phone.
how can i change the default resolution so that the app can be open?

well your phone has 20,mp cam, so you can also shoot at lower resolution, afaik it support 13mp.
on first start freedcam use the values returned from picture-size parameters, which is on all phones not the max size.
you can choose the picture size in the picture settings.

Thanks for taking a look at my yuv file, it looks like it's not really worth messing with it.

That cm12 thing looks interesting though. I'm not really sure what I'm looking at, is that piece of code ROM or kernel related? Do you think we could get it to work somehow, or is it something only CM devs could do?

its from framework. hm no idea if it will fix it for cm12 with uncomment it. normal someone thought about something when comment it out.
if you are able to build cm12 try it or find a dev for your device.

its from framework. hm no idea if it will fix it for cm12 with uncomment it. normal someone thought about something when comment it out.

Hi, thanks for the update. now the app can be open but when I take picture, got this error message "Got Error from camera:100"
and my screen become as image attached.

I'm here again : I follow perpetually the thread, and I try every app release when published.
Still on Touchwiz, now my Samsung Galaxy S4 is able to shoot RAW.

rename the raw to .jpg and you will see what it is. sorry no raw
samsung has the same problem as always, we are not able to disable zsl

i also removed all releases from github!
why? its simple. freedcamhol.es got listed as mailware site. and to save you from such stuff i removed all binarys!

    I Created this thread for anyone interested in Capturing raw on their Device it may not work on most but i will try get raw from as many devices as possible.

    SD SOC

    S600 <

    Install Freedcam Swipe Right > Picture Format Choose raw

    if device not list below attach raw sample in a post to add DCRaw support.

    S800+

    in Picture Format Same option submit sample so we can DNG Support.


    Most Snapdragon Devices have raw enabled in Picture Format.

    *Sony Devices seem to have raw disabled and removed from list with the exception of Xperia L perhaps devices released in the similar period have it too.

    *Samsung Seems to have raw in the Picture format List but somehow the data is intercepted maybe there is a workaround who knows .

    *HTC only M7 seems to be disabled .


    Omap4
    Seems only LG Optimus 3D Working

    To Capture on OMAP4 you have two Options either Picture format route or making a special folder where raws get dumped along with the usual jpeg capture.
    will add what to do later but it's in this thread if you wanna search it.

    Mediatek SOC

    If you can access engineering Menu you can capture raw

    sure i saw it but i didnt change something for mtk because i dont know whats wrong.

    something about the work process:
    reading a logcat with 500kb takes 15-20min until i have found the needed information or not.
    the s4/5 have a own camera wrapper like lg has for the g3. to get that implementet i had to rework (ALL!!!) menuitems. i did it in 5 hours...
    building raw therapee took me 8hours. (it was not a problem with the source but with my building env)
    and i did both on the same day....

    what i want to say is, im only one whos doing all that stuff and its timeexpensive.
    and im realy trying to get all that devices working with freedcam.
    but if you want to push me to a hurry, i get lazy and think why i should do this, i dont have that devices why should i care....

    im doing this in my free time...
