Problem with SMS center...
Hey guys, I have a problem with my SMS center number. I can't receive or send any text messages. I think that's because there is no SMS message center number. When I click on the option "SMS center number" (below Allow WAP push), the cell will start seaching for the center number, but give me the following error message after just a few seconds:
"Timed out when get SMS cente number, please try again."
If I'm quick enough, I can push the "Back" button, for it to stop searching for the number, and paste a number manually. The problem is, that even when I'm quick enough, I click on "OK" after pasting it in the box and two error messages appear (in the same order):
"Failed to set the sms center number."
and that message is followed by "Timed out when get SMS cente number, please try again.".
To me it seems like a bug, where after a while he jumps to a predefined message that says that it timed out.
I might have an idea... Is it possible to access the files on the filesystem that contain (or in this case, probably don't contain) the sms center number, in order to change it? From a PC or even from the device itself. I already downloaded some terminal app, and granted it root access, but had no luck, so far, in finding the file.
By the way, my carreer is Vodafon (Portugal) and the correct sms service number would be: +351 911 616 161

Actually I forgot to update this post... After I finished writing this post, I actually got on several sites that indicate that with the "*#*#4636#*#*" and then write there the number of the message center... But the problem there is, it doesn't save what I write there, or the output is an error. I even tried to ignore the error in the SMSC field.
I tried writing several things there like the normal number, the number with " " before and after, the number with something after it. Basicly I tried all the suggestions you could read about online. And after each attempt I even restarted the phone after each attempt.
I even tried to convert the "+351911616161" to octal I think... Not sure which one it was... And then typing it into the SMSC field. But... No luck...
I do have the impression that for some reason, what I write into that field as well, isn't being saved.
Might it be, that it has something to do with the kernel or something... I never quite understood what the kernel is for, so I usually flash the ones that are indicated by the creator of the OS. In this case I have the "2.6.29.6-Th-mod FreeXperia+tatsuo@rev08" kernel.

I'll update the rom when a new MIUI RELEASE comes out , and update will be delayed for Saturday for I'll have to release it with most error free . I'll most probably release a hotfix if needed . 1. Install " NOfrills Cpu control" from Market ( future updates will include nofrills )
2.Set settings as
*freq - 998-192 ( u can always try different things for ur self )
*Governer - Smartass V2 or Ondemand
*I/O scheduler - BFQ
* Don't use 3G unless you are surfing net .. Just use 2G & turn off data for day to day usage .. That will improve the battery life a lot
* Turn off wifi if you are not using it . Wifi kills lot of battery life
All are welcome for posting other different settings in Nofrills for better battery life
Note : reducing cpu to 128 will result lags , so don't blame the rom
