No not really. There is sufficient friction on the inside of the cover to prevent it from flipping down everytime. Besides you have the bag to keep the cover secure. It needs to be rotated more than 90° for the cover to flip down.

Default Re: Nillkin (Synthetic) Leather smart case

Just got mine today and I can say I love this case! Feels good, doesn't feel cheaply made but I guess I will find out over time. Here are some pics I took

mine arrived last weekend too. very well built quality. i expect that much for a $20 case. took photoes but haven't got the chance to up them.

thoughts:

+ very well made. solid stitching. fits the N7 like a glove.
+ the skin is... neither leather-feels, or fabric. it's not plasticky either. it's almost like, solid fabric? it's great. cleans easily, looks great too.
+ smart wake has no issues, even folded all the way back.
+ i know there's no latch to secure the flap, but 90% of the time when i pick it up, i always hold the flap on my hand anyway. plus, it seems to "stick" to the N7, even after prolong use of the standing position.
+ the felt-like inner skin is superb. feels soft and won't scratch the screen at all.
+ very thin.

but....

- it's not the easiest thing to set up to standing position.
- once set up, for the first few days, it's hard to maintain it, as the flap is still "stiff".
- yes, the mic hole is partially covered. no impact to Google Now voice search and Skype though!
- very thin. it's a negative too because it offers little protection if u drop ur N7 on concrete floor. sure, it'll protect it from scratches, but no rubber bumper at all.
