Default [Guide] Recover your corrupt serial number

This will ONLY modify your serial number it will NOT change your IMEI number or help u use a stolen device. !!!!!! This guide is intended for people who have corrupted there serial number. This happens and people need to know how to get it back onto the device, This will NOT help you if u have a stolen device ( sorry looks like u might have to give it back now )

Please note this will ONLY work if you are using a ENG hboot if your not on the ENG hboot it will fail.

Install eng hboot from here -Thanks to brokenworm for the Hboot

Now go into fastboot and type
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Now check the output and make sure its only your serial number which is corrupted.

Now its time for the serious part . Your now going to use your own serial number so u need to know it. this is normally found under the battery or on the box itself. Once you got it and your ready go back into fastboot and type the code below

Code:
fastboot oem writeserialno SH1234567890
- Replace this fake serial with your own make sure you have the space between serialno and your serial otherwise it wont work.

Now thats done go back into fastboot and type
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Then check your serial number is back up and running. Reboot and all should be fixed :P

*Hit the thanks button IF this helped you dont post it*

Please use the poll if it helped you recover your serial number.

This can happen in many ways. using the PG88IMG method to update hboot radios No1 knows why but it does happen. Having this guide will just give those people it happpens to a way to get it back and do it the safe way.

using the PG88IMG method i killed my phone too! but by 4Ext-recovery i was able to restore it... (A partition was blasted).

best thing to flash is by adb and the command "fastboot.exe flash..."

this always worked in my case.

greets

its using fastboot mate not adb :P and you dont need to put fastboot.exe flash just fastboot flash

and just to let people know. WHENEVER you flash a hboot you MUST wipe all partitions ( not the sdcard tho ) otherwise it might not boot up or you will most certainly get errors in recovery
