I'm noticing a gapps force close on each reboot .
Stock, never rooted.

You're likely using Swiftkey. This seems to be an issue for all of us using that keyboard, however, it doesn't seem to cause any functional issues with the keyboard or phone. It's a minor annoyance, and is hopefully being addressed by the Swiftkey devs.

The battery life sucks. I used to get 21 hours on a heavy usage and now I only get 15

I too am getting horrible battery life. My phone also seems to get quite a bitter hotter after the update as well.

I'm really hoping that the Rom just needs to settle down and it gets better over time

Is there a certain version of the lg mobile software support tool I should be using? VS980 isn't there under the install driver options and the software doesn't see the phone even though I can see it in windows explorer when hooked up through usb.
