Download terminal emulator from the Market and type in
cat /sys/class/block/mmcblk0/device/name
Then hit enter.
Edit: There is a space between "cat and forward slash". No space after that.

My Glacier is unrooted since it was Froyo (currently OTA Gingerbread).I'm interesting of ROOTING my phone.I know I should downgrade to root my Glacier. Also I know before I gonna root my device,i must check EMMC chip of my device. So I searched how to find EMMC chip & got those ADB COMMANDDS.
cat/sys/devices/ platform/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host/mmc0/mmc0:0001/name
cat/proc/kmsg|grep'mmc0:0001'
But the problem is none of these working!Reaultr is always NOT FOUND! Please tell me HOW TO FIND EMMC CHIP OF MY UNROOTED GLACIER..
Ok, since your on Gingerbread, youll need to downgrade to froyo.
