Will this Toolkit S-OFF and SuperCID? I just want to flash Android Revolution HD 4.0. Will this kit be enough to flash the ROM?

hi...I'm currently trying root my HTC amaze 4G...I've downloaded the toolkit...and everything seems pretty straight forward....the only thing holding me back is that my laptop is refusing to detect my phone... even after I installed the HTC driver in the toolkit software....and apparently I can't proceed with the rooting without the computer detecting my phone.... so please I'd like to know...is there anything I did wrong ? how do I solve this problem ? a solution would be very much appreciated :)

Did you check in Settings-> Connect to PC -> Ask me is checked? Your phone should be in charge only mode, I'm pretty sure.

How to get back to stock with an already-rooted Amaze

I bought an Amaze from eBay and it came already rooted, running 4EXT, with SU enabled. I did a factory reset, trying to get the stock system, but it comes back the same.

Now I am using Hasoon's AIO Toolkit to replace this 4EXT and go back to a stock ROM. I relocked the bootloader and then ran the Flash Factory RUU zip.

Everything went great. The phone is now back to stock.

Thanks much to Hasoon!

After you unlocked the bootloader did you flash a custom recovery? If I'm reading correctly, the toolkit is pushing the SU file onto the sd card, then it wants you to go into recovery and flash it. If you haven't flashed a recovery, then flash 4ext recovery. then you can download superuser here, if it isn't already on your sd card, and just flash it through recovery, which would be these directions you are reading in the command prompt:

Go to Install Zip From SD Card
Choose Zip From SD Card
Locate SuperSU.zip and flash it
Press the back button and then reboot the phone
You are now rooted

sent from my NRGized Amaze,
powered by faux kernel v.17

Can you go straight from unlocking the bootloader to flashing the SU.zip for PERM ROOT, or do you have to flash a recovery ROM first, then flash PERM ROOT?

you should flash custom recovery first then you can flash the supersu zip

You can still go to the HTC website and unlock from there too.

What guide are you following?

the same thing happens when i try the htcdev way, it gets stuck on waiting for device after i input the "get identifier token" command. its driving me crazy, i reinstalled the drivers and everything....i have no idea whats wrong

Have you tried this?

Oh, I got stuck here too for a few. You should chat with ravike14 he's really good at all the unlocking rooting and s-off.
I had a hard time correctly selecting the text in the command window. you have to only get the highlightes text as shown in bianaries guide. Check out step 9 in the second post!

Good luck, and come back for more help if needed. I gtalk with ravike so I'll give him a heads-up thet you may need his assistance!

After making sure drivers are installed and the computer is detecting your phone reboot your computer with your phone still plugged in. Also check device manager is installing correct drivers and showing in the list of devices. Sometimes the computer will install drivers for the phone but the wrong ones after unplugging or plugging your phone in again.
I've had problems like that before the computer kept installing android sooner drivers so I had to delete them before it would install the right ones and read my phone properly.
Try with phone off. Usually gets the right drivers installed.

    Post 1 - Information
Post 2 - Downloads and Release / Change Information
Post 3 - Bugs, Future Additions to the GUI, FAQ

I would like to add for those that like my toolkit, PLEASE DO NOT POST IT ELSEWHERE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!

I have seen multiple sites who copy and paste my work to their site! If I do not approve of it, then do not do it! it will discourage me from adding updates since it is being used for their own benefits!

    tl;dr.

If you post my work without permission, don't expect updates!

I created an easy to use GUI program for the Amaze. I spent a good over 10+ hours to learn how to script, watch videos on how to do it, working on it during school when I should have been listening lol and all that fun stuff. The GUI interface looks like crap right now GUI is improved starting from v2.0 but I just wanted to share it. I am going to fix it and up and add more updates to it. You CAN place requests and I will try to fulfill it!

If this helped you out, Please press the thanks button and if you want, you can always donate!

    FAQs

Q - Why Did you make this?
A - To make life easier

Q - You are limited on features. Why?
A- You can always make a request!

Q - Will this work on other devices?
A - Only the fastboot commands, HTC Dev unlock (device specific) and the HTC drivers. Toolkit is made for the specific device.

Q - Will you support more devices in the future?
A - If people REALLY want, I can make it happen. I just don't want to make anything that nobody would use.

    Q - Awesome! Can I make a donation?
A - Of course! Do not feel obligated though. If you would like to make a donation, you can click the button on my toolkit or under my username.
