Will this Toolkit S-OFF and SuperCID? I just want to flash Android Revolution HD 4.0. Will this kit be enough to flash the ROM?
hi...I'm currently trying root my HTC amaze 4G...I've downloaded the toolkit...and everything seems pretty straight forward....the only thing holding me back is that my laptop is refusing to detect my phone... even after I installed the HTC driver in the toolkit software....and apparently I can't proceed with the rooting without the computer detecting my phone.... so please I'd like to know...is there anything I did wrong ? how do I solve this problem ? a solution would be very much appreciated
After you unlocked the bootloader did you flash a custom recovery? If I'm reading correctly, the toolkit is pushing the SU file onto the sd card, then it wants you to go into recovery and flash it. If you haven't flashed a recovery, then flash 4ext recovery. then you can download superuser here, if it isn't already on your sd card, and just flash it through recovery, which would be these directions you are reading in the command prompt:
Go to Install Zip From SD Card
Choose Zip From SD Card
Locate SuperSU.zip and flash it
Press the back button and then reboot the phone
You are now rooted

Can you go straight from unlocking the bootloader to flashing the SU.zip for PERM ROOT, or do you have to flash a recovery ROM first, then flash PERM ROOT?

You can still go to the HTC website and unlock from there too.

if i had one request, possibly utilize x's kernel flasher into the same program?
