keyboard filled the width(no right side gap) fine for me in lanscape without using softkeybar.
The Swype keyboard works fine. The AOSP keyboard has the overlapping issue.

I've been mucking around with various settings in the keyboard app and haven't found anything else workable. There may be a code solution, but that will have to be back-burner for now.
Unfortunately, the setting to get that layout changes the margin on both sides of the keyboard. I couldn't find one that would move only the right side (doesn't mean it doesn't exist, of course).
I have added these two to my device using the links you provided. Quite frankly, I'm not sure what the difference is? Bravia looks like a camera sharpness filter, and xLoud seems to be for making the sound.... louder? I was personally already surprised by the loudness of the default Kindle - even its quietest setting is far louder than, say, my phone's. After installing xLoud, I can't hear any difference.
Please do let me know if I'm just misinterpreting these two addons (I was not familiar with them previously).
I'm using a custom modified Hacker's keyboard, which fits to navbar. So, maybe it's somehow possible to modify any? keyboard. (found here: http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=375984)

This will help. I should be able to compare it to the official version to see how it was changed. Of course, Hacker's Keyboard is open source, so it may be a code mod...

You pretty much hit the nail on the head, bravia might be worth pursuing but xloud is garbage especially for the kfhd. If you really want to beef up the sound DSP manager would be the way to go. The libs and apk are easily found through a quick Google search, and well worth looking into if you are considering xloud at all. Pretty sure I have a flashable zip around somewhere for ICS roms.
like i said, acydaudio engine ! http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1923630
there is other tweak of audio that have more that this, but this is the more stable of all. and was already tested for kindle fire hd !
No, not acid. DSP manager, the libs and apk come built into cyanogenmod though there is a flashable zip floating around the intertubes as well. DSP is the superior audio enhancement suite imo, if for nothing else than the custom equalizer. I don't like the sound of beats or acid, if I wanted an obscene amount of bass I'd turn up the boost in DSP.
Hey just to let ypu know, I dont know if you tweak build.prop, but I was able to install chrome, speech recognition by google and ebuddy (which were all listed as incompatible before). Could be a nice feature to add.
I was just wondering if you plan on a kinology rom based on update 7.4.3?
