Ps.: Now, all gsm models (P1000, P1000L and P1000N) were named to "P1000" for compatibility reasons.
I didn't build the CDMA version because we have only AOKP for P1000 GSM models yet.
Greetings from Brazil!
excellent work as always HumberOS! thank you for giving us yet another updated kernel. just out of curiosity, is there anything thats needed for building a non-MTD kernel with the current state of the source (besides obviously changing initramfs to point to ../initramfs)? i tried changing all sorts of things in the defconfig's, resyncing/cloning your repos, and every kernel failed (wouldnt pass samsung screen, nothing mounted in recovery, no adb logging output of any kind)
@ALL - upgrade your kernels! this kernel will be included in build #31 (read below for further details on build #31)
Thanks!
But I don't know what I can use or not use anymore when flashing the actual Kernel without MTD - I am currently on HumberOS' Kernel dated 7.3.
you need to use the one without MTD, as AOKP is not MTD yet.
Hi stimpz0r
And You plain to will work on MTD on this ROM?
I had many graves problems whit ROM MTD type on TE4M Rom (now I forget this rom). I not use my Tab on that twice.
If Yes, don't forget put on post 1 the info like DEV
dizgustipated have on BOCA ROM now:
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1589596
Quote:
WARNING!!! IF YOU ARE COMING FROM AN MTD PARTITIONS ROM (te4m cm9)
A FULL RE-PARTITION & RESTOCK MAY BE NEEDED
TO MAKE THIS OR ANY OTHER TAB ROM FUNCTION PROPERLY
All your data will also be erased.
I wait a good answer please.
Thank You
ok, first up (and this relates to the above quoted post, and anyone else who is wondering)
AOKP is NOT (yet) MTD. i will give everyone fair warning when it moves over to MTD.
regarding your problems with MTD... for a start the CM9 build (as AOKP) is beta, currently still being developed. infact MTD only just started working, so the TE4M are still working out the problems. if the occasional non working feature or problem is too much for you, then i suggest you download either Overcome or CM7 (dizgustipated makes a very stable build).
another thing i cant stress enough (and this is to everyone too), if you plan to flash custom roms,
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN TO THE LETTER!!! even if you think you know what you are doing, follow them still. developers dont write instructions to confuse people for the fun of it, the instructions are there for a reason...
... which brings me to my next point. if you read the quote that you posted from dizgustipated's thread properly, you would have realised that it has nothing to do with flashing to a MTD based rom, its about flashing
FROM a MTD based rom. although, i will be adding this to the first post as well, to warn people coming FROM the CM9 MTD build.

I was using the tab in landscape to use Google maps, which works very well.
When i try changing back to portrait i have to reboot to get portrait .
Tried toggling rotate but makes no diff
Tried this a few times now and locks in landscape every time
Build 29 p1000
Minor annoyance...
Thanks for checking this out

i tried it myself a few times last night, and had no problems at all with going from landscape to portrait, and portrait to landscape after quitting from google maps. did you do a factory reset / dalvik cache wipe after flashing the rom? did you install the latest gapps (linked in the first post)?
Old news, they are up to 31 now
Expect 31 in the next day or so if everything goes smoothly
M.
i actually would have had build #31 up tonight, but due to problems with my internet connection / github, i couldn't sync code last night... fingers crossed for tonight!
i suppose though that its a good thing though, now i can include humberos's latest kernel with build #31.
Does this build have video acceleration? I've downloaded a need for speed game and it wont display correctly just squares and gray images... also thanks for the help about flashing the right kernel
Thanks in advance
(video) hardware acceleration is working very well on the latest build of AOKP, but it still depends on the game / app you are using.
