[Q] Change frequency of Galaxy S4

Hello ,
I purchased a Chinese version of galaxy S4 , but the 3G is WCDMA 850/2100 Mhz . I want to change it to WCDMA 850/1900 . Does anyone have a method that will work for this phone ?

Please let me know . I am trying to fix this problem .

Just flash another modem that doesn't block those frequencies and make it quad band

Thanks for your reply , the specs for my phone is shown below . I am not an expert at flashing modems but I am an expert at learning . Would you care to provide some more info on the process .

I agree, it looks like one of them lookalike fakes, 512MB of RAM....

Yeah , Its not Authentic but its not bad , the specs shown in the phone system menu is better than the specs shown on the store website .
I am doing it more for experimentation .

Anyone have the software that can flash the phone to change it from WCDMA 850/2100 to 850/1900 Mhz ?

No sorry, I wasn't expecting it to be a clone phone.

I don't think the hardware is avaliable for 850/1900Mhz.

You need to understand that even if this is supposed to be a "clone" of the Galaxy S4, the underlying hardware and thus, the software running on it/the software used to program the device are completely different. Nothing that applies to the Galaxy S4 applies to your device. The looks is the only similarity between them.

I am aware that it is a clone but it can stiil operate as phone so I am wondering if there is any generic software out there that can flash the phone to be able to change the frequency . It maybe worth a try .

You should not flash the authentic S4 ROMs on the clone as there are hardware differences and it'll most likely brick your phone.

1. Software from our s4 will brick your phone if you try to flash it. As you have been told, your device is completely different from a s4.

2. All frequency specs (three of them, 2G GSM, 3G UMTS and 4G LTE) are hardware specs completed with some software "details" embedded into baseband or modem firmware. This means that if your phone specs is 850/2100, you cannot change it to other frequencies even you change the modem.
